Bill Evans - Alone (Artist Transcriptions Piano)

Although a number of these tracks have been transcribed elsewhere and available in other collections or on the internet, it's great to have them all gathered in one place. Since this album is up there for me with Keith Jarrett's THE MELODY AT NIGHT WITH YOU as one of the great solo piano albums, (Evans made a number of other solo albums, which vary in quality - some cuts are up to this standard, others kind of meander) it is a fantastic resource into Evan's style and voicings. A modest price to pay for so much gorgeous music!

Five amazing solo piano pieces from ‘Bill Evans Alone,’ meticulously transcribed by Dr. Aaron Prado and beautifully published. I appreciate the clarity of notes and markings, slimness of the volume that makes pages easy to turn and keep open, and Dr. Prado’s forward with suggestions for the pianist.

Well I always like the song I’m working on the most and there is nothing the least. The quality paper and binding seem good. Other recent purchase the book is falling apart. An insult to Bills work. Perhaps I’m a fool but studying Bills works 18 years but there is so much to learn and such a joy. Keeps me totally entertained.

i was waiting this for long time,and it,s a huge problem in this book, repeated and missing pages, check if you are lucky may be you got a good one i read a a bad review , and then i saw my copy, and was exactly as bad as the review, i really would like the publisher will send me a new good copy of this masterpiecethanks A.L

Pages 9 to 24 are missing from the book and 25 to 40 are repeated, this copy is not printed or assembled correctly!!!

Fantastic transcriptions for solo piano taken from Bill Evans’s solo album ‘Alone’. I’ve long admired listening to this album and now to be able to play these arrangements with exactly the voicings that Bill uses is an education in itself.A word of warning, you can play it note perfect but you may not still sound like Bill Evans, really makes you appreciate his touch on the piano even more!!
