Very nice adapter
First... for those who are complaining that this adapter doesn't work on their Sony NEX camera. You need to turn on the "Shoot without lens" option in the cameras settings. Also the Canon EOS lenses won't autofocus and you have no control over the lens aperture settings. You can shoot in A mode or manual only. The adapter works well but is limited due to the lack of contacts bridging the lens to the camera. Even then, you would likely have issues with a Sony camera talking to a Canon lens. My only gripe about the adapter is the tripod mount. The screws are so small that a set of jeweler screwdrivers won't fit them. It would be nice if Fotodiox would have designed the mount to be removed with ease. Other than that, the adapter is well built, fits nicely on both the camera and lens.

Great Adaptor For Those On A Budget
Considering the insane prices for Sony's line of NEX E-Mount lenses, I was looking for an inexpensive alternative to utilize the multiple Canon EOS lenses on my Sony FS-100. There are pros and cons, obviously, to buying something at this price point. First, let me say that the adaptor fits snugly and locks into place with no problems. It's sturdy for being mostly plastic. My Canon 75-300 lens works perfectly. For those who aren't aware, all lenses using this adaptor have to be set to manual to adjust focus. Another thing to consider is you have no real exposure control as the f-stop wheel cannot function without a direct communication with the lens. That said, on the FS-100, you can bypass this by playing around with ISO levels. Focus is crystal clear and it looks great. Since I do a lot of adventure travel style documentary filming, I find this will be perfect for the types of shots I usually shoot for b-roll. Using the Canon 18-55 kit lens, I was actually pleasantly surprised at how well this looks on the camera. This kit lens might actually work quite nicely for interview style shots as it gives a fantastic depth of field. Now... using a Canon 50mm f/1.8... I did run into an unusual snag here. When attached, the entire image was blurry and the focus ring did nothing. Strangely enough, I found that putting it back on the Canon camera and adjusting the image then switching back to the Sony maintained the image, but the focus ring was still useless, so... pain in the rear, but if you happen to find yourself wanting to use this lens, set it manually using your Canon camera to infinity before popping it on an FS-100. Also, this particular lens defaults to the f/1.8, so your image will be super bright. Again, playing around with ISO settings will resolve this. It isn't a perfect solution, but when you're on a budget and get used to things, it shouldn't be a major issue. I would just bring your Canon with you, just in case you need to change the image. My recommendation would be if you're using this adaptor, know your camera well, especially in manual modes. A great tool, but I would look elsewhere if you're an auto-focus hobbyist.

Don't get scared. This thing can easily be detached to a lens it was put on.
Thing didn't transfer any electrical from my Sony to any Canon lens, so was crud since the lenses didn't have any manual ap controls. What made it the worst junk was fear that it wouldn't ever let go of my Sigma 50-500 I tried it on one day without having to take it somewhere and spending extra money to have it removed without harming the lens. I found out on the net that the little screw head thing on the side works instead as a LEVER and must be pulled back towards the camera to get it to release the lens it was on. I saved a bunch from that, and didn't lose my favorite Canon lens by finally running across that bit of wisdom from someone else.

Not perfect but 5 stars anyway
There is a very slight play with the connection but still this is my best cheap photography purchase to date. The Nex-6 I have has the 16-50 Sony kit lens and it is okay. However, you add this ring and a 35mm Rokinon t1.5 cine lens and this camera is suddenly a show stopper. Also, with a cine style lens you have aperture control. It is so easy to focus manually using a Nex that you would be foolish not to get this adapter and use your Canon lenses and if you want aperture control, get a cine lens as they are sharp and inexpensive and are perfect for video. The best $20 I've spent. I will be using this in a shoot tonight and if there are any issues I will update this post but as it stands, this is a valuable little metal gadget and I highly recommend it. I was able to focus very close to my cat and get a nice perfectly focused shot, something that is very, very tricky to do with my 7d. Sony's focus peaking makes manual focusing simple.

A quality mount
The build quality of these mounts would be hard to beat for the price. I have multiple adapters from Fotodiox and all of them are very well made. You'll have to control aperture in camera but that's not a big deal if just shooting in auto. If you really desire complete control then this isn't for you or you should be looking at spending a little or a lot more money. I've tried other adapters that were much higher priced. They were not of this quality. Everything fits perfectly as it should. There's even a 1/4-20 tripod mount on the bottom for heavier lenses.

It Works, But There Are Some Settings Needed For Camera
This lens mount adapter is a bargain, compared to much higher priced adapters from the manufacturer. I just tried it on my Sony NEX-3N today and there are some points that I can mention: When you connect the adapter and the Canon lens, there is a message to disable in the setup menu item "Release w/o Lens" when you power up the camera. The camera does not sense when this adapter is assembled onto the camera with a Canon lens. Therefore you have to have this disabled while the adapter and Canon lens is attached. I realized prior to purchasing this adapter that the auto focusing and zoom features would not work. There are no electrical connections made when using this adapter to the body of the camera. Therefore you can only use this in manual mode instead of the more advanced Superior Auto, etc settings. This is fine, but it takes more time to take a shot when you consider this adjustment is strictly manual. I'll report more on this product after I have tried some distant photos with my long Canon Lens adapted to the Sony.

using your old canon ef/ef-s lens on your sony e-mount made simple.
Offers a secure fit between your sony e-mount camera and your canon ef/ef-s lenses. The adapter is a full metal body and the lens flange is made from a separate and seemingly tougher material than the body to support the weight of the lenses. it also secures the lens interlock mechanism seen on the side of the adapter. alignment indicators for both the camera body and the lens are clear visible and accurately placed. Please note that there is no weather sealing, so it would not be wise to take this into a lot of dust and moisture. this is a basic adapter so forget about using auto focus.
