Stanley 3.5M/12 Ft Powerlock Tape Measure

This is the best compact tape measure available easily. I love having metric and English scales both available. This unit is not intended for long measurements (only goes to 3.5 m / 12 foot. I now own three of them. I keep one in my work tool box, one in the car, and one at home at my computer desk. It is compact and easy to carry to the hardware store in your pocket. It doesn't add much weight to your toolbox. It fits in a desk drawer without taking too much volume. I bought the first one in 2015. I bought the second one in 2016. I just bought the third one in 2020. They are reliable and give me my money's worth.

Great product! I wanted to find a metal tape measure as I just hate the feel of the plastic ones, and I also like the heft of this thing. It feels sturdy enough that I'm not worried about dropping it or banging it into something and having it break. For being so sturdy it is also very small, and 12 feet is plenty for the basic home improvement jobs that I need it for and it easily fits in a pocket to carry it around. Also, the tape part itself works great it is very stiff so it is easy to do solo measurements, and the retracting mechanism is very responsive and crisp.

Item description says the case is metal. It is “silver” plastic. Other than that it seems ok. The one I received is pretty easy to read though the tape is a bit narrower than many (but that is both good and bad since the narrower tape makes it smaller and lighter).

Out of all the different tape measure brands and sizes that I've used over the years, this one turns out to be the most useful. This is the tape measure that I always keep handy on top of my desk. The metric system is a must-have these days, as we harmonize our measurement systems with the rest of the world, it is more common to see specifications in metric units. This size is good for a full range of activities such as measuring packages for shipping and home remodeling. This one fits comfortably in the palm of the hand, and feels light when clipped to a belt or pocket. I also keep one in the car.

前に持っていた物が壊れたので、やっと見つけました。仕事でサイズを測る時に、品物により表記が違うので、これが無いと困りますね。

Have always bought this tape for 47 years for work. Just a shame in the past 15 years you have to go to the USA to purchase as not available in the UK.

It is 12' long, thin, light, compact and does imperial and metric .... why is this one so hard to find in shops? Why are there other tape measures? It is ideal!!!

I specifically selected this model since it has: -stainless steel case/belt clip -imperial/metric markings -small pocket size That said, the marking scheme can be a little different than what you might be used to. The metric side is marked as millimeters, with every meter marked in red and in meters (ie ...800, 900, "1m", 1100...). The imperial side is marked as inches, with every foot in red font (ie ...22, 23, "24", 25...). So, being able to divide by 12 and 10 is handy... The smallest increments are 1mm and 1/32inch. The case is about 2 inches x 2 inches and about 3/4 inch wide. If you play the game, the 1/2inch wide tape can be extended horizontally in the air for about 5 feet before "breaking" and falling. Edit: changing from 4 stars to 2... the tape measure coating on the bottom side of the tape is peeling/delaminating at the edge after almost no use...disappointed. Expected more from Stanley.
