What a bummer
At first glance this thing looks great. However, it's cheaply made. There's a black spot in the microscope that won't go away, the scalpel is a piece of plastic so it's useless and the Brian shrimp that comes with it for experiments never hatched. Just a total let down for my 8 year old.

okay as a gift not for school
This is a toy. It was looking for a microscope that was not a professional but was good enough for an elementary student school assignment. While it was recommended for students. I still do not thinks this is a good microscope for student and is more like a toy.

Great magnification quality. Surprisingly pleased
Bought for 7 yr old daughter but has quality for adult use. Stuff in kit is nothing special but lots of gadgets, kids love it

It’s for kids so it will look cheaply made but it’s not.
Yes it is FOR KIDS so it looks cheaply made but I got it from my personal use and I love it so far.

Useless
I loved the carrying box! However, the lens was horrible on this beginner microscope....no way to clearly see the slides. I returned the item.
