[Intel Certified] 20Gbps Thunderbolt 3 Cable - 6.6ft, USB-C Thunderbolt Cable, Supports 100W Charging, 8K Video, and Data Transfer, Black

I bought this cable to use for Oculus Link, and it works perfectly. While this cable is more expensive than the 10 foot USB A to USB C Anker cable that Oculus links to from their website, I wanted a higher-quality C to C cable that would be somewhat future-proof. This cable is TECHNICALLY capable of 20 Gbps as stated, but more than likely you will be getting 5 Gbps if you're just using this from a standard USB-C port on a PC into a device (in my case, an Oculus Quest). In order to get the full 20 Gbps, you will need a USB-C port that is specifically Thunderbolt 3 capable. I suspect that you will already know if your computer is Thunderbolt 3 if you're looking at this cable, but the Cable Matters website lists the full set of compatible computers if you want to check. With all that in mind, this is a very beefy USB 3.1 Gen 2 cable. It's THICK, which gives me confidence that it can handle the stress of being attach to a device that will be moving around a lot. I got the 6.6 foot (2 meter) version of the cable - which is the longest they (currently) offer for this cable - and I should specifically note that Oculus recommends a 10 foot cable to make sure that you can do standing/roomscale VR experiences comfortably. However, I got this cable for testing during development in Unreal - which I will be doing seated in front of my PC - so the length of this cable is perfectly fine for my purpose. This cable is solid and looks like it will last a long time. I'm happy with it.

Cable exactly as promised in product description. Needed a 20 gigabyte cable. Worked perfectly. No need to spend 30+$, in my opinion.

Couldn't get it to drive two 4k monitors with my MacBook Pro. Could have been user error. Got it working with a Thunderbolt 4.

Same problem that a number of other buyers have reported, after a couple of months use it starts disconnecting and reconnecting, and it's getting worse as time goes on. I've actually made a small bracket to lock it into place on the laptop tray I use but even then it's constantly disconnecting due to minor things like typing or tapping the touchpad. The problem appears to be that it doesn't lock into place very well and/or isn't very durable, so that after a month or two of use the connection gets more and more flaky. Updated June 2020: Within a day of posting this comment I was contacted by Cable Matters who offered to send a replacement, despite my being located outside the US where shipping isn't cheap. The replacement works fine, thanks for the great product support!

TB Video problems like crazy! I'm using a TB4 mac connected to a TB 3 dock and an Apple Thunderbolt (1) display and a DP/HDMI projector. Thunderbolt is fully backwards compatible, so this setup should work, and it did, but with video cutting out randomly and sometimes requiring disconnecting/reconnecting of the cable SO often that it was very frustrating to use. I bought another of this same cable buyt had the same problems even though the cable was brand new. Not sure the exact cause, but switching to a TB4 cable from s a b r e n t completely solved my problems.

I have a Thunderbolt external drive, but it came with a six inch cable which was annoying, I got this for greater flexibility for use, and I've not experienced any speed degradation. The cable feels good. It is thick, but flexible, and feels good in the hand. The plug feels firm when plugged in, no wobble or random disconnects.

The 6.6 foot cable is 60 watts of charging, not 100, but I don't need anywhere near even 60 watts because I'm using it for a phone. It is very well made, flexible, has a good length and a satisfyingly clicky connection. I'm giving it 5 stars because it's an excellent product and I assume amazon will update the description at some point, which would eliminate this discrepancy and make a sub-five star rating no longer justified. So, rather than come back and check and then edit my review, I'm just going to assume that that change will happen. It is possible that the shorter cables have 100W of charging power as they do have higher data throughput ratings. I do not know for sure though.

This was the first TB3 cable that I bought back in 2016, and have traveled with it pretty-regularly since. I bought a second one in 2021 now that they're a little cheaper as well. Pretty much any part of the Thunderbolt 3 protocol works just fine on these, so it's always been my "it just works" cable for anything involving USB-C. After 5 years: - The sheath on a new cable is very stiff to start, but it does loosen up over time. - I'm very gentle with my cables, I never have issues with things like Apple cable fraying that seems so common. After 5 years, I'm _just_ starting to notice the beginnings of some fraying at the cable ends, but part of my reason for buying another one is to just stop needing to continuously-move the 5yr old one. I don't consider this a problem for the amount of use I've put this one under.
