Fit of this Walking Shoe
This shoe is ok, quite light and is pretty true to size in length. However, as I constantly find, even being a 2A it is still too wide. I buy New Balance because they are about the only ones who offer the supposedly narrower fit. It's still too wide and I have to put pads in the heel and arch and bottom to suck up all of that room. Not everyone has big, wide, fat feet and I don't know why the Athletic mfgs. will not offer some actual narrower shoes. They all lean to wide and wider. My feet are not exceptionally narrow anymore, can usually wear a med. width in a dress shoe etc. but they like to make these athletic shoes like wide boxes. Tired of it. C'mon New Balance, make a 2AAA, at least a few of them to work for some of the population!

Size up in Width
I bought my normal size in this shoe, but it was tight with athletic socks. I have started to run into this with New Balance of late. Not sure if they are making these for people who walk on their lunch hour or what, but I walk with athletic socks not dress socks. I returned the first pair (Amazon was excellent, as always), and ordered the same shoe, same size, but in a wide width. Did the trick.I have had them a few weeks now, and they are comfortable for walking.

Perfect walking shoe; not so great for standing all day ...
The toe-box on the size D is nice and roomy; just what I needed. I walked for 3 hours and was still comfortable in these shoes. Another day, however, I was preparing food for a party and on my feet in the kitchen literally from 8 am to about 6 pm, and my feet were hurting after that. So I would definitely recommend them for walking but, if you have a job where you need to stand all day, these are not good enough for that. For what I wanted, they are perfect.

Comfort without leather
Instant comfort, wore them 6 hours first day. They are all synthetic, therfore great for people who shun leather. Good support, roomy toe area, and deliciously light weight (8oz. per shoe). I don't feel like my feet are in hot boxes! Just what I need for Atlanta, GA summer. My last pair of New Balance walking shoes (discontinued) lasted forever and I walk a LOT. As these are lighter weight, it's uncertain how long they will hold up. For this reason I withhold one star and will update my review after the summer.

Changed, not for the good!
I bought these because my prior pair were so comfortable. I felt it right away that these are not the same fit. They are too tight, too stiff and no longer have the same insole as the older pair. I thought maybe it was just this pair, but after reading some of the other reviews, I realized they were saying the same things.I'm sending them back before I get stuck with a pair of shoes I can't wear more than an hour.Too bad they always have to change things. Both were made in China, but I guess they even had to be more cheaply made.

Disappointed in fit.
It's risky to order shoes that you can't try on before purchasing, but I thought I'd be safe ordering online a pair of the same style and size as I'd previously worn. I thought I'd done that, except for the color, but when they arrived the style appeared a little different, and the fit was disappointing. I wear size 8 B but usually in walking shoes need 8 1/2, to allow for socks, and it's a good thing I did for these, but still I'm wearing my thinnest socks. Also the arch support seems inadequate. I'll wear them, it's too much trouble to return, and I won't order shoes online again.

Get what you pay for
First thing first, these aren't bad sneakers. New Balance makes good sneakers, and this is no exception. The materials are a little cheap though, especially the laces which I found to be a little too short. The shoe is mostly to size, except that for the first time ever I've found a shoe that's a little too narrow for me rather than a little too wide. Lots of great support though and I look forward to tromping through the park in these.

Very comfortable walking shoe
I'm very please with these shoes. They fit well. I've worn them walking 2-3 miles per day on street/sidewalk since I received them and they are quite comfortable. The tread is not designed for anything but dry surfaces so I would not depend on them for trails or wet conditions. The paper-thin inserts are removable so it's easy to insert your own.
