Fantastic for iPad-mini
I've had my iPad-Mini sitting in a box under the nightstand, and it was a pain pulling it in and out of the protective case whenever I wanted to use it. I've been looking for a dock, and having used Belkin products in the past and been very happy with them, I decided to try this.First of all, I don't understand the reviews that say the iPad-Mini is not "stable" when on the charging stand: it's so stable I can use it without removing the stand (not for typing, I suppose, but for checking email, reading Kindle books, etc). I don't believe it would work for an iPad as the back doesn't seem wide enough for a standard iPad.Some reviewers said the lightning cable connector was not adjustable, but this is simply not true. When I first set the iPad-mini on, I didn't hear the typical Apple "bing" that indicates the item has been plugged in. I took of the iPad-mini, used the back dial to raise the cable connector ever so slightly, and "bing" when I set the iPad-mini back on. Very snug fit on cable connector. I don't have a case, but I have the standard Apple-issued cover which puts the device to sleep, and device fits fine with cover closed. Update: Last night I noticed that the iPad-mini seemed to have a big space between it and the back of the dock. I took mini off, very gently eased connector clip backward, and now iPad-mini rests securely against back. Connector clip moves forward and back to accommodate different case thicknesses (or no case at all), and mine has no case on back, just the Apple cover on front. (I used padded sleeve on iPad-mini to protect it when I take it anywhere, but that doesn't stay on when it's charging). Also, dock charges as quickly as the Apple-issued cord that came with iPad-mini.I'm having a little trouble finding the hole in the iPad-mini and have to lift the dock to plug it in, but I'll probably get used to that pretty quickly (I was used to storing the iPad-mini in its unzipped protective sleeve, with the hole pointing upward, so I could see it when I connected the Lightning Cable that came with it. The dock makes me store the iPad-mini right side up so I can't see the plug unless I lift dock slightly to plug it in.) However, when plugged into dock, the iPad-mini makes the characteristic Apple "ding" which alerts you that device is connected to power. The only thing that surprised me was that it said it came with its own power source: a four foot cord inseparable from the dock that ends in a USB port. You do have to have your own plug that accepts a USB connection to use the dock to charge: it will not plug into the wall by itself,High quality product. Surprised that it cost so little. Setup about 90 seconds, including moving the nightstand to reach the surge protector power outlet and undo the original cords. Will update if any problems are encountered.

Work just fine and as expected..case issue is common to all other cradles..
First of all, if your concern is that this cradle is not compatible with some cases, here is the news folks: your case is not compatible with this cradle..cradle works just fine with the right case.It handles ipad air 1 and 2 without a problem..it is sturdy, well designed and low profile..It comes with its own lighting interface so that all you need is a usb charger that comes with your iDevice..I also owned the iPhone version of this cradle for last 2 years and it works just fine as of today..i expect the same quality from this Belkin product..if not, i will update this review..I tried many cheap "from China" eBay docks and cradles, and they all went into recyclable trash after few months. This one is here to stay.Big tip: With lighting interface, you get what you pay for..do not go cheap..cheap is bad..and they end up costing you expensive..I would definitely recommend this iPad Air dock to anyone who owns and Ipad Air..if you have a case that has a thick base. You are out of luck for all the legit cradles out there..

Nice dock if you modify it. See update.
This is a well built dock that has enough weight to be stable with an iPad mini on it. Too bad that it is not designed to work with the Apple Smart Case! It will only work with cases that have a wide opening around the power port. Why they didn't accommodate the Apple Smart Case is beyond me. The power connector "height" adjustment does not help because the power plug has a wide base, so you can't really extend the height of just the lightning connector itself. It's probably designed to fit belkin iPad cases, but not Apple cases. A bonehead move if you ask me. If you have a case on your iPad make sure the the opening around the power port is at least 1 1/8" wide.Update: I removed the black plastic housing surrounding the lightning connector & it will now reach the iPad mini power port with the Apple Smart Case on. I have the case cover folded back on the iPad & it fits the dock. The cover looks to be mostly cosmetic & the lightning connector is still solid with the shroud removed. Just stick a knife blade in the gap in the plastic & pry it up & off. Mine didn't put up much of a fight. Don't see any negative effects, so you may want to give it a try.

Abnormally Large Lightning Connect Base Interfers With Case
I bought this product to use at work with both my iPad Air 2 and iPhone 6 Plus. Since I don't use a case with my iPad Air 2, it works great and I really like the height adjustment function. However, I use a case with my iPhone 6 Plus and the product will not work with my iPhone without removing the case. I do a reasonable amount of product design, and I am baffled by the fact that whoever designed this product clearly did little or no actual testing of the product to verify their statement of "Easily adjusts to fit your case". As you can see by the photos, the base support for the Lightning connector is abnormally large, and the Lightning connector itself does not extend high enough to overcome the thickness of my case, which is only 1/10" thick. As a result, the Lightning connector does not come into contact with the contacts on my iPhone and therefore does not work. So even though the height is adjustable, the overly large Lightning connector base will not fit into the reasonable opening of my case to allow the product to function properly. They would have hit a home run if they had just completed the design process (fully tested the product).

Great piece of kit
First impressions as this has just arrived is that this thing is sturdy and well built; a massive chuck of metal that weighs a ton. It looks sleek and sexy and is the best dock on the market that I have seen. There are lots of reviews below stating that this stand doesn't work with cases on your iPhone. I haven't found that at all, I used the switch on the back to raise the lightning socket up and it fitted with no issues, this is also true of my iPad that I just connected. I am unsure if the switch is a new thing in response to issues or not but it seems to protrude out by quite a significant way so I can't see why people would have difficulties with cases. The only thing that I would see as the issue is if your case has only a very small space for your lightning connector then the width of the plastic that the connector sits on with this stand might make the distance too far to fit it. If you have a inch gap in your case by your connector you will be fine.Overall, looks great and does the job**EDIT** this dock appears to have changed from the original posters video at the top, with the screw to adjust the height and also a different base to it that the phone/iPad sits on, i have uploaded some pictures
