Far Better Than I Expected!!
I've been listening to this system for a little over one month. For MANY years I had used the Boston BA745 2.1 speaker system with my computers. It was a system Gateway supplied with their computers (yes, that was long ago in a computer galaxy far, far away). They finally reached the end: the sub woofer would cut out, the left speaker volume would cut in half, wires had to be jiggled, subwoofer kicked, etc. I researched for months to find replacements. I asked for recommendations on Facebook. I read review after review on the internet. I narrowed it down to either the Klipsch ProMedia 2.1 THX system or the Logitech Z625 THX 2.1 system. I sent Klpisch a question via email...and I'm still waiting for an answer. After a week of waiting, I decided Klipsch didn't want my business, so I ordered the Logitech Z625 THX 2.1 system. I did not think any system would be notably better than the BA745 2.1 system. I couldn't have been more wrong! The first song I listened to on the Logitech Z625 THX 2.1 system was Paul Wilbur's "Worthy." Oh, wow! The bass this system puts out is stunning; I'm hearing low notes the previous speakers NEVER produced. I am hearing instruments on songs I had previously not heard. The improvement is beyond stunning. I have listened to a variety of musical styles and everything sounds amazing (keep in mind that speakers can only produce the quality of the original recording; a cheap recording and a lousy, imbalanced mix down in the studio cannot be overcome by any speaker system). The all around sound is outstanding. The bass has a deep, flowing, intensity instead of a cheap, thumping produced by low-quality, inefficient speakers. MId's and high's are very distinct; as mentioned, I'm hearing instruments - and vocal parts - not previously heard. Setup was extremely easy. Out of the box, the bass level was set slightly past 12:00 and I have not changed it (I thought I might have to turn it up, but it is excellent at the present setting). The volume can be turned up LOUD!! I haven't turned it up past 11:00, at that has been plenty (I usually have it about 9:00 or lower). I have no doubt this system would be very adequate for any sized room in a house. This system cost more than I had hoped to spend but compared to numerous other systems, this one is worth it. I highly recommend the Logitech Z625 THX 2.1 system to anyone shopping for computer speakers.

Bought a 2nd set, Great for the price, can run 2 sources
I had a set of these for years and was very happy with them. The bass is rich and punchy and well balanced and the controls are great. After years of abuse I ruined the cable connections because I kept pushing against them with my foot while scooting a heavy recliner back, not realizing I was pushing directly against the cord connections. I'm honestly surprised they lasted that long considering what I was doing to them. My dogs would also use the subwoofer as a stand to look out the window. I'm not sure why but I replaced them with set of slightly cheaper speakers, the Klipsch ProMedia 2.1 THX set for $120, which many reviews assured me were great for the price and "punched above their weight." Neither was true. It's an understatement to say I was disappointed by them. The controls were awful and incapable of fine adjustment. The sound was muddy with no mids and the bass lacked that punch & definition that I loved in the Logitechs. After a couple months I got sick of them and decided to just eat the $120 and treat myself to another Logitech Z625 set. So worth it. I glued a 2x4 to the back of the subwoofer so that I won't damage them the way I did my last set. Great speakers. But my new favorite thing about them that I didn't even realize when I bought them is that they can play from the optical input and the 2.5mm stereo input simultaneously. This is huge for me because I have a personal desktop and a work desktop at the same desk and use a HDMI and peripheral switch to alternate between them. Previously I also needed an audio switch and I've already spent around $100 on switches having broken 3 of them because of their terrible plug designs. Not only will that not be a problem anymore, but I'll be able to hear my Zoom phone ring on my work PC even while using my personal PC. That's a big extra win for me and makes me like them even more than I did my last set.

My first THX certified speakers and they are worth every penny. Butter smooth and amazing balanced sound. The sub is "off the chain" as they say. THX certified from now on and really nice solid product from Logitech. Build quality is "heavy". Speakers are solid and the controls are smooth and don't feel cheap. Smooth feeling on the knobs when they turn.. Nice big mids on each speaker (35W RMS each with 130W to the sub [looks like an 8" at least]). Distortion is non existent - phasing is perfection. I don't even have to touch the EQ as out of the box it is so pleasant on the ears - not too warm, not too bright... bass is deep and intense without washing out the mids and highs. Very detailed and precise sound field.. Very loud with bass setting at default (mid way) - shakes the house. 5/5 - a pleasure to listen to. Really impressed with this product. Couldn't do any better IMO short of a HT amp and discrete speakers and sub for $$$$ more.

let us talk about sound.... 1.The world has three popular home theatre systems...Logitech +UE/JBL + Harman Kardon/Bose...I believe Logitech spends the most on sound research. I am an audiophile and an engineer 2. I have 4 home theatres Logitech Z333 (office 120 sq ft/40 watt RMS)...F&D t-200 x (living room 200 ft/70 W) & 2 nos Z625 (for bedroom/drawing room 300/600 sq ft) & scores of portable bluetooth i/c Logitech x300/Tribit Go/Aomais ball 2nos/tagg sonic/JBL flip 2 3. Logitech x300 & Z625 are my fav...reason-sound quality. 4. Let us talk about only the sound and the Z 625 setup... Netflix/Prime video transmit sound in PCM/stereo + Dolby Digital Sound quality is determined by video resolution so you will have better sound if Video is 4K (just introduced by Prime by airing Tom Clancy's Jack Ryan)... I use 1080*1920 video resolution (or 2k or Full HD) that my TVs/!st gen Fire TV stick can deliver. 2nd gen Fire TV stick has just been introduced (Video 4K) Dolby Digital can give you max 7.1 channels while Dolby atmos can go upto 108 sound channels. Dolby Digital compresses sound by a factor of 10 so an uncompressed audio file for a 90 min movie in 5.1 format will be approx 8.3 GB (bigger than the movie video file), but only 800 mb in the compressed Dolby format. The Dolby receiver then uses an algorithm to reprocess the compressed sound file. I believe tha DTS/DTS X delivers a better compressed bit rate. PCM/Stereo delivers a sweeter sound...surround sound...PCM started as Pulse Code Modulation and as a .wav file in windows...AND is lossless THX certification means 20 to 20KHZ (I have tested this on Z625) and THX speakers have to undergo more than 400 tests before a speaker is certified. THX is certified for sound quality alone....(Lucas Films refused to release STAR WARS in any theatre that is not certified THX...) Why Z625 2.1? 1. I prefer clean stereo surround sound of PCM/stereo available on my firestick and iffalcon-TCL android certified TV. 2. I hate the messy setup (wires & speakers) of 5.1 or 7.2 sound systems. Also a 5.1/7.2 system can only do justice to a sound across a single sofa. 3. PCM files are only available upto 2.1 in netflix/prime others including blue ray 4. I do not like compressed audio files. When sound is recorded in a studio they use headphones which are not supposed to sound good; they’re supposed to sound accurate (on very very expensive equipments). The sound engineer mixes the sound as he would like to hear us to hear it. But alas our sound systems/acoustics are far inferior.... 5. To setup Z625 please go your firestick-settings-display and sound -and turn off Dolby Digital. In your android TV turn off Dolby to stereo SPDIF 6. The satellite speakers are to be set up like an equilateral triangle (60 deg) (that is why I hate soundbars). This means that the speakers are to be set apart at approx the same distance as you are (from them in the room...preferably at ear level). 7. I use the lossless optical SPDIF output as it comes from the pre-amp from my TV. AUX out/Headphone out is connected thru the TV amplifier that adds noise and distortion and is to be avoided, Firestick connected to bluetooth receiver also delivers a poor quality sound. CONS: 8. I have HDMI arc on my TV but no inputs on my Z625. Also Z625 lacks bluetooth (I use a logitech adapter) and a remote 9. Enjoy PURE recorded Sound...20 to 20KHz...the sound as the engineer had recorded on professional equipment. On Netflix/Prime Video when I watch UK/US movies or TV serials, only with Z625 I do not need to turn on the subtitles and instead can now concentrate on facial expressions etc 10. Earlier I was making the mistake of turning on Bass >70% so that was overpowering vocals. Keep bass levels between 45-60% for 90% of netflix/prime content. MUSIC...I watched Arijit Singh live (MTV-Gurgaon)/Cold Play etc on Z625 & do not need to attend LIVE concerts. WHY Z625: This has SPDIF optical Toslink for lossless connection. Also I believe that Logitech has designed to do away with frills and give us a budget studio quality Home Theatre without compromising on sound Happy Listening, Sanjay143 Note: I have not purchased Z906...but Logitech products are timeless classics....I have heard all i/c Bose Soundbar 700/Polk Signa 2 but there is little comparison Remember a chain is as strong as the weakest link...best to worst for audio frequencies....HDMI ARC/SPDIF/Coaxial/RCA/Aux/Bluetooth for speaker connections.
