Excellent video card!
I bought the RX 470 GAMING X 8GB and it is an excellent video card for the money. If you can afford a bit more then go for the 480 but if you can't then you will have no regrets with this one and the 8GB version will make it much more future proof. When I first installed this I was getting LOTS of blue screens and crashes. After reading up about it and posting on some forums I found a few things that helped: 1: Completely uninstall old drivers using Display Driver Uninstaller which can be found on the 3DGuru website. This does a much more through job of removing the old drivers, registry entries and misc. files than the default ATI installer does which makes a big difference. 2: If you are getting crashes when using Chrome then disable "Use hardware acceleration when available" under the settings. After doing the above my computer has been running problem free.

LOVE IT! WORKS AWESOME!
HOLY CHRISTMAS! THIS GRAPHICS CARD KILLS IT!!!!! What a great card! My graphics are 1,000x better and finally I have a real gaming computer. I was able to up all of my settings to the highest graphics each game allows and there is no more freezing or hesitation in the gameplay. I'm glad I bought this. WARNING: When you install this you will probably need to buy a new power supply unit and you need a spare 8-prong plug to power this unit. I tried to use the power supply in my existing computer but I only had a 300W and no available plugs. I bought a 600W and everything screams! One other thing...I had to cut pieces out of my computer to make this fit as this was longer than I thought it would be and was conflicting with a bracket for the hard drive.

MSI RX 470 8GB GAMING X
Great gpu especially once you've updated the drivers. I set it up and was getting 30 degrees C stock cooling and fans but I'm probably going to adjust the fans so they spin before the before 60 degrees C. I played Skyrim SE at ultra lightly modded so far and looks beautiful over 60+fps on my budget i3 skylake build. Still need to put this gpu under a heavy load and truly see its worth. Update: I stand by what I previously said and definitely recommend downloading ReLive after installation. Over a month now and still performing like the 1st day. Ran multiple games like TW3, DS3, and Dragons Dogma and it's running high/ultra roughly 60 fps. Going to be looking to upgrade my processor to an i5 65/6600 to get the most out of my 470 8gb G x gaming wise.

Great card, horrible setup process.
Does what it needs to do, a huge upgrade over the 750ti I was using for about 2 years. But let me be clear- the reason for 4 stars is because of the AWFUL setup process to get this to work. You think you can pop the disc in and install the drivers, be playing a game 15 minutes later? WRONG. You want to download the driver suite from the website, install it and be done? WRONG. Every time I ran a driver install program it failed. I ended up making mine work after installing all of the MSI components from their website, then using device manager to browse for drivers for the "Generic Display Adapter" that it recognized (The rx470) so it could install the driver from the disc, which is a Beta driver and works horribly. After that I needed to go to the website and do the same process with the real driver i downloaded. Hope this helps anyone that had an issue like I did.

Was amazing until it stopped working a month later...
This card was amazing. After a month of occasional use it sounded as if the fans were no longer working at a high RPM and artifacts appear in the screen. I'm guessing it either has bad ram or overheated. If my warranty exchange is flawless I'll update this rating. I've always had a great experience with MSI products so Im a little shocked.

AVOID
Purchased Dishonored 2 and Doom for my PC recently and needed to update my 2GB video card. I'd had problems with Nvidia in the past so I tend to shy away from the brand, meaning ATI (err...AMD now) is my only option. I've had mostly good experience with ATI products, so I thought this would be along the same lines. Sadly, AMD is not ATI. This card was terrible and I didn't even realize how terrible until I sent it back and purchased the GTX 1060 instead. With the Radeon, Dishonored could barely handle High (basically level 4 on a 6 point scale ending at Ultra). Starting the game required waiting for about 60 seconds of jittery screen panning until the card bumped up to speed. The card froze every day or so during the game, dumping me back to Windows. Worse, the card locked up my otherwise stable OS multiple times in the course of a week, giving me the first BSOD I've experienced in a year or two. The drivers couldn't be updated due to glitches with the software contacting the server several times and when the latest update was manually downloaded, the update wouldn't take. Picked up the Nvidia out of frustration and it's been smooth sailing. And I do mean smooth. The game can run on Ultra, which is great, but more importantly after close to a week, there hasn't been a single hang or freeze. There was a glitch with screen tearing in Chrome, but after that was resolved it's been perfect. I can't recommend this card at all. It was a total waste of money and time. Two stars is very generous.

card bends under it's own weight.
The hardware runs fine but the card it's self has no support and the card bends under it's own weight.

Fast Video And Now I Have The Hightest Level Rated Possible On My Windows PC
Outstanding performance. The card is quite long so be aware of the space you have. The power connector come out the top of the card which could get in the way of the case. I had to make a small cut to make room for the power supply. Once connected it screams. Doing the Windows hardware rating I now have a computer that rates 7.9 which is the highest rating. I can't get any better. The card looks well built and if you have a case with view windows. It's pretty the way it lights up. This card should be outstanding for any game or any use you put it to.
