It looks good and functions better.
Perfect fit, great alternative and just makes since. You'll love the look, the ease, and of course the cost of is product. I've had mine for a couple of years and had no issues with over heating, wetness, or climatic issues. The temperature here can range from dry to heavily humid and I haven't had any issues.

well-made & substantial, a perfect fit for my GoPro Hero 12 Black
MAXCAM Aluminum Alloy Battery Cover Door for GoPro: Well-made & substantial, it's a perfect fit for my GoPro 12. Attachment was easy. It's a no-brainer choice over cheaper doors that have an uncovered hole for the charging cable. Those invite dirt & sand grains to get into the camera.

Excellent accessory for Hero 11
I ordered this for my GoPro Hero 11 to eliminate the annoying requirement of opening the entire battery compartment to plug in the USB-C cable. Despite reviews stating otherwise, this door was very simple to install and closes up securely. The small port for the USB-C cable is easy enough to open and snaps shut. It looks like a factory accessory (and frankly should be a factory feature). Two points to remember: 1) THIS DOOR IS NOT WATERPROOF, and 2) the little port is not spring loaded so it flops around, which is mildly annoying. That said, it is an accessory that is well worth the small cost if you want to connect your USB-C cable to the camera with greater convenience. It’s also easy to swap back to the factory panel if you decide to later on. To have a more watertight camera.

Once repaired - does the job
When I first tried to install this cover on my GoPro 9 Black - it didn't fit. After a comparison to the OEM cover - I discovered that it was bent - or that it needed to be bent back in so it would clip into the bottom. Once I did that - it fit OK. But we all know that once you start bending metal parts - it gets weaker and is prone to breaking. But it works for now and I'll keep it rather than go to the hassle of replacing it.

Does what it’s supposed to do.
I bought a similar product from another manufacturer and it didn’t attach securely to my Hero 12. It was so bad that I ordered the MAXCAM within 30 minutes if receiving the other product. The MAXCAM has a secure hinge that actually clips on to the Hero 12 securely. I have no worries about the MAXCAM door disconnecting from the Hero 12 when I open it. The door will only come off if you intentionally take it off. And the small access door for the USB-C power cord is easy to operate. And out also stays closed when you close it. The only drawback is that the MAXCAM is not waterproof or dust proof. But the manufacturer doesn’t claim that it is. This is a very well made product for the price. I’m very happy with it.

Would Not Fit Hero 11
Edit: I received the replacement item and it has the same problem. I am returning it and trying a different brand.Original Review:The top channel of this door would not snap on the bar at the top of the GoPro's battery compartment. I noticed a few other reviews here complaining of the same issue. On mine, there is a small piece of metal blocking the center of that otherwise open channel. It is open on the left and right sides, but that metal in the middle keeps it from snapping in place. The instructional video on the Amazon product page showed snapping it into place with moderate pressure. I pressed as hard as I could, just short of the point of risk of damaging the GoPro, and there is no way it is going to go on with that metal piece partially blocking the channel. I suspect that this particular sample has the metal piece slightly misaligned.Since many people have installed it without problem, I think this is just a defective sample. I sent it back to Amazon for a replacement with the same item. When the replacement arrives, I will update this review regarding whether it installed like it should.I like the concept of this MAXCAM door. The original GoPro door is incredibly hard to remove. I worry I am going to peel my fingernail off the finger when trying to extend the spring-loaded piece. I think GoPro could come up with a better design. I saw a review here that explained how to open the MAXCAM door if you want to access the battery or microSD card. You open the little door that covers the USB-C port, and that gives you a place to pull down on the spring loaded piece with the end of your finger instead of your fingernail. That should provide a lot more leverage. I haven't tried it because I can't install the door, but in theory that seems like a good design.
