Great rods for the money
As a Lake Michigan salmon angler, I cannot recommend the Okuma Classic Pro GLT rods enough. These rods are an absolute must-have for anyone serious about catching salmon in the deep waters of Lake Michigan. One of the standout features of the Classic Pro GLT rods is their incredible sensitivity. The rods are incredibly responsive, allowing you to detect even the slightest nibble from a fish. This is especially important when trolling for salmon, as they can be notoriously finicky and difficult to catch.Another great feature of these rods is their durability. The Classic Pro GLT rods are built to last, with high-quality components that can withstand the rigors of saltwater fishing. This is essential when targeting salmon, as these fish can put up a fierce fight and can easily snap inferior rods.Additionally, the Classic Pro GLT rods are incredibly versatile. They come in a variety of lengths and line weights, making them suitable for a wide range of fishing techniques and conditions. Whether you're trolling for salmon, casting for steelhead, or jigging for lake trout, these rods are up to the task.

Like the rod. looks and feels good.
Packaging is less to be desired only thing protecting rod was plastic sleeve. Rod had 2 of the line eyes bent during shipping but I was was able to bend back without breaking. I would recommend some type of cardboard tube for shipping.

Good salmon trolling rod
This is my second Classic Pro GLT, with my first combo package still going strong salmon fishing in Northern California. I fish the Okuma dragging a three pound ball on a sinker release. The rod flex at the tip is good while trolling and the flex in the rod keeps a steady tension on the fish when bringing it in. I have had better luck with the Classic Pro GLT then a number of gifted West Coast expensive rods that broke (twice) and had to be returned for the "lifetime warranty" that cost 75 bucks to replace the rod. When I was last out using the replaced "high end" rod I noticed the tip eye was starting to come apart so I decided a backup rod was needed. Looking at my Okuma that has gone on all the fishing trips the " West Coast " rod has gone on, the Okuma Rod looks great, all the eyes have stayed together, it hasn't broke, and it fishes well so i ordered another one. Just a quick update. Went out on a six pack party boat and found the supplied rods were these rods. Crew said they liked em and they kept the fish on the barbless hook nicely.

Super Value
Work great for light down rigger rods

The rod is great
Mine arrived missing a guide insert and not packed great. I was able to get a refund and they let me keep the rod, I managed to fix it with a cheap insert kit. The rod is awesome for trolling with snap weights and downrigger. The fore grip is really thick so make sure it will clear your rod holders. It handles 10 Oz and a flasher just fine

price is right
I used this down rigger model for trolling, but without downrigger. I think most in this series of rods have similar action, slow.First of all the price is right, but it is indeed a very basic rod, the fit of the 2 piece is quite loose, it has not come off during fishing but it will spin off to the side after a while.I understand these rods is made to bend into the backbone alot so you can load it up with downrigger. But it's not that great once fighting fish, in my case hook set was vague and difficult. It's hard to explain and it would comes down to the individual angler. But I have more success landing fish using a faster action rod than slow action.I will say the bouncy slow action really exaggerate bites so you can see bite attempts better, the whole rod bounces up and down and even make some sound compared to a fast action rod that moves more concentrated at the tip.In this case, I found if I invest $20 more than the price of this rod, I can get a graphite rod that performed (for me anyway) better than this rod.I think trolling specific rods for kayak use is a bit overrated, a regular rod with the action of user preference can do better. We are mostly not going at high speed and not trolling for big tuna.
