LOCKS WITHOUT KEY!
I put that in the subject because nowhere in the description or anywhere else mentions it so this shoud help others. The locks are very heavy duty feeling for what they are and they lock very well. Using for my lawn care setup to keep my trimmers and edgers locked on my racks. Now when I need to get a trimmer, I simply use the key to crack it open and I can put the key up. When I get it out, I simpily snap it back in and it locks. No key needed to lock. I had those dumb locks that requires the key to lock and not only that, the stupid key is stuck in there until you lock it!, defies the purpose of a lock!... NOT THESE!!!!! I'm gonna give those other ones to the garbage.Get these because they work. A litle trick is you can put a touch of air tool lube in or baby oil or even veg oil inside the lock which keeps it lubed if you use it outside. No it won't grab the dirt and keep it and all that jazz. It also helps protect the internals from weathering and galvanizing. Been using that method for years and it's never let me down. I just needed better locks that match for all three racks and were better than the crap I had. Get these, you will be glad you did.

A promising idea with fair completion
I bought this set of padlocks for several iron gate latches. The locks are encased in black plastic that has a rubberized feel. After only about a month or less of daily use the cover for the bottom of the padlock breaks off at the thin plastic hinge. This is disappointing but for me not a deal breaker because the outside of the lock is still covered. Unfortunately, the plastic covering of the shackle is thick and has a parabolic shape on both ends of the shackle which broke off when I attempted to feed the shackle through the gate latch. Having that parabolic shaped piece to prevent moisture from getting into the body of the lock is a good conceptual idea but it increases the diameter of the shackle such that the shackle will not pass through the lock hinge. To be fair though, the shackle is advertised at 1 9/16 even though the main part of the shackle itself is 1 1/4 inches. The plastic on the body/case of the lock should protect it from rusting well enough. The lock is sturdy, and the provided keys work well enough without any flaws. Because of those two issues I would not and won't buy the set again or recommend it at the price point it is at. I still use the locks however since it's not worth my time to return them.

adequate
The media could not be loaded. I needed to replace some Master Locks I had for over five years. These were in perfect condition, but I needed three more same-keyed locks. I took a chance with these locks. The metal started to galvanize after the first rain. It works ok, but you must use the key to lock it back up. I am going back to Master Locks.

Nice Design
Excellent Design, escpecially the SealsMinus 1-star as could not open several locks at first... Discovered that they simply had to be "worked/operated" a couple times, before the keys would work... after that, no problem.Hint: Need to slighly Compress the Shackle during key (opening) operation, else the mechanism tends to Bind... which leads you to believe that the key is not working. (eg The Rubber Bellows/Seal puts a slight Load on the lock mechanism... not allowing it to turn correctdly, until you "unload" it via compression")-------Update: Used this on trailer for cross-country drive (5-days, 3k miles) and found some negatives:-None of the weatherproof caps would stay closed (regardless of orientation into airflow)-When the weatherproof cap is installed (while parked in the rain) Water Accumulates INSIDE the cap... which means that the lock mechanism is at least somewhat sitting inside water... (and presumably would be capped in ICE had the weather been cold enough). This is a design flaw, as the cap should be watertight, else is not really providing much weather protection.-One of the rubber bellows seals (on the shackle) fell off when lock was opened... I happened to notice it missing, and was able to find it on ground before leaving; hence just popped it back into place... but, it's still a cause for concern, as need to verify all seals are in-place, before closing the lock and walking away.

I bent 2 of these locks on accident. They work but I'd imagine a small hammer would brake them
Very cheap if your worried about actual theft
