Pays for itself!
I've seen Reed Geek and passed it up for a couple of years now. Any saxophone player will acknowledge that reeds are the bane of our existence. If we get three reeds that work right out of a box, all of a sudden that box of reeds has tripled in price. Reed Geek has given me a new lease on life for all of my reeds. A few swipes with Reed Geek and like magic, the reed is made better. Good reeds get great, bad reeds get good. I mean, really good. I've gone through every reed that I can find around my house and have gotten satisfactory results with each one. There's no razor trimming, no guessing, just a couple minutes to initially adjust each read then seconds before playing (or between plays if you're rotating them). I figure it is going to be at least a two - three years before I will have to buy reeds again. No Joke, this tool pays for itself. It does seem pricey, but when you look at the amount of money and time you will save adjusting reeds, I think you will find that your savings will end up being many times the price of cost of the tool. Did I mention that the reeds play a LOT better.

Definitely Balances the Reed for Easier Break-in
Pros: very easy to use (recommend viewing Better Sax YouTube; Jay Metcalf presents an excellent tutorial using this product), sharp and balanced; a mini wood planer, fun to experiment, adds to the enjoyable experience of saxophone ownership. Cons: Youngsters definitely need to be supervised when using this tool, it’s sharp at all edges (but that makes it a very quality tool), cost seems high until you get it and then you realize how many reeds will be saved as a result, plus its fun to use.

Game Changer!!!
What an amazing tool-I was hesitant at first because of the price but after the first use I felt like I was playing a different horn!!!-it is definitely a precision tool-high quality & a very balanced piece-there are plenty of YouTube videos out there to help you use it properly-not hard at all to use and just with a few passes it worked amazingly!-I won’t have to buy reeds for a while that’s for sure-I’m still in disbelief of the changes this thing made in my overall experience playing the sax-you can tell right from the suction test that things are lining up the way they should!-Highly Highly Recommend!!!...

Good tool, but takes some getting used to.
I’m still learning how to use this tool. It takes a while. The preliminary results are positive for improving the reeds for my alto sax.

Significant difference
I started playing alto sax again a couple of weeks ago after not playing for 40 years and I took up soprano sax for the first time last weekend. The reed tool makes a significant improvement to my reeds in tone and playability. Doesn't take even a minute to really help a reed. Guitar is my main instrument, but I think my guitars are getting jealous of my saxophones.

Pays itself off quickly
Go from 3 or 4 usable reeds to 8-10. Better than something like a lathe bit because of the parts on the end to work the front of the reed. Super easy to use

Good tool, not keeping it's sharpness
Good tool but decays quickly in shrapness

Didn’t Expect it to do what it said it could!
I honestly didn’t think it would do much when I first heard of this and now having it and using it for about a month, I’d say that it does a lot. It smooths/shaves the table of the reed and that’s honestly all I do and have been amazed with the out come. Totally recommend this if you got the money to spend it, it’s well worth it!
