What to say?
I need to format these discs to be able to record onto them in the way I want and I've never had any problem before doing this with +R DL.But so far, I've tried doing this with 4 of the discs in this new set. 2 have worked fine but the other 2 haven't. One of these came up with the message "incompatible" and the other just wouldn't be formatted. So what to do? Is it a duff batch?

do not buy these discs, you'll waste most/all of them in hope of getting 1 working disc.
tried 10 times using 4 different dvd/br drives within different pcs to burn a 6.8GB video (needed to make multiple copies of a wedding dvd). every time they failed between 10% to 90% of the writing cycle with the same error given each time. luckily I had just enough spare dl discs remaining (none printable and a different brand) that worked with out fail,so I could at least get 1 set of discs out.these have got to be the worst set of dl dvd discs I've ever bought, I'm now in the process of sending them back for a refund. shame I can't give negative stars because they are worse than useless.

All ok no problems over a number of devices.
I have not experienced any problem with these discs which is what I would expect from Verbatim, I use them in an Asus DVD writer on my PC and on two Panasonic DVD Recorders and all devices work fine with these discs. I did once a while back have problem burning DL discs but found it was the software as when I switched to another software the discs were ok.

VERBATIM SURPRISE!
My sole reason for the need to use dual layer is to make movie DVDs with the best resolution. I have used Verbatim many times with NO problems, but these failed in 4 of the first 6 tried (2 of the first 3 were OK so it was some time before I realised the extent of the problem, by which time the return window had expired). The problem is failure to play past the "layer change point" on the disc - a problem I have encountered with cheaper dual layer DVDs. Having established that the DVD recorder is not the problem, I must express my disappointment and surprise at the poor performance of this product.
