LED Programmable Message Pocket Fan & Rave Toy

This was very easy to program. The instructions are in plain English, and not translated from a foreign language.You can put up to six separate messages on this thing, and scroll through them with the buttons. Each message can be up to 18 characters, including spaces. There are also several special characters you can generate besides numbers and capital letters.If you leave the fan on, it will cycle through all the messages and then return to the beginning and continue to cycle until it runs out of power or you turn it off. You can also manually cycle through the messages with one of the buttons. It does not appear you can turn off the automatic scrolling, so if you want just one message displayed, you should have only one message programmed in.Holding down the top button for a long time deletes all the messages on the fan and returns to the factory messages.It arrived in perfect working condition, with batteries included. No problems.

I bought a couple of these, I'm glad I did. Turns out; they're fun and interesting.They're easy to program, just play with the buttons, or give them to a 12 year old. You can choose from CAPITOL LETTERS, numbers 0123456789, punctuation ? , + - = ! # $ & X ÷ @ ' ¢ £ ¥ etc. and a heart.A bonus feature is that they're not boring. They don't just show the words you program, they do a display routine.After you've programmed these and you turn them on, they cycle the message in a variety of ways: flashing on & off, painting the letters from 1st to last then last to 1st, rotating clockwise then counterclockwise, blinking at varying rates... After a while, a repeating pattern of dispay schemes may become apparent; but the routine is sufficiently complex that it seems random unless observed intensly.They are quite bright in-doors, but become difficult to read in direct / bright sunlight. That's reasonable though, they are totally apropriate for what they're presented to be. I think they're better than their price.I used them to flirt with a girl I'm dating. She loved them immediately. She was totally surprised by them, especially because of the varying display program that I described above. She had to watch and see what the message developed into, because the fan does'nt show all the message right away, it sort of teases the message out. This turns out to be much better than just showing the message, you have to stop and watch it for a few seconds to see what happens. Cool!One she kept the way I had programmed, but the other's message I left more generic so as to prompt her to try programming it herself, which she did; she used it to flirt with me! So one became a memory from me, and the other she can play with and use to make messages of her own.They don't make great / strong fans, but they are fun little signs. They're easy to program / customize, and make fun, interesting, economical, and useful / reuseable gifts.

Just want to say that I could not figure out how to program although I tried several times. Could be my age??? I cannot figure out how to change the word from Phase 1, 2, 3 etc. to "Howdy" or anything else. I wish I had asked to have it programed when I bought it. Might have worked better for both of us.

When it worked, this was awesome and blew people's minds (admittedly, they were at a festival) but it stopped working pretty quickly (the letters, not the fan). First one I ordered didn't work but Matt was quick to send another so the customer service is good. Would buy again as it's not expensive, just expect a short shelf life.

I did not receive what was pictured. The fan I received has only one button on the side that only turns the fan on and off. It did not come with any instructions on how to program the fan though it appears to have a port that could be used to directly connect it to a computer to program it though I'm not sure what type of connector it needs (it is not standard USB or micro USB).

I have bcought this about 6 years ago from another dealer and ended buying 6 dozen for retail and they worked perfectly, I wanted to try this one and IT DOESNT work I can only enter 1 word and that's it....... I does not allow a full message like THANKS A LOT it stops at THANKS. I am not happy with it Thank You Roger

Product arrived, and worked as advertised.The fan actually puts out a decent amount of air as well which is an added plus!The system lets you program up to four separate messages and the instructions to do so are pretty straight forward.Not much else to say, cheap item, good value, worked as advertised. :)

Well, what will you expect for $2.95? It's fun for a few days, the electronics, especially the buttons that control the letter and punctuation selection, wear out very quickly, or it will start showing electronic blocks instead of the message you selected.
