I installed myself, product was exactly as described! Do NOT Attempt to do this if you are not an experienced and trained qualified! Item was fit perfect!

The tools are very straightforward. The criss-cross groves in the handles, the diameter and length of the bars are sufficient to get a solid grip and have the leverage necessary to turn the garage torsion springs. The bars are heavy and I never felt concern that they would break or bend. The red paint on the ends is slightly helpful to ensuring the bars are seated deep enough that they won't slip out.

I can't say how they worked because even though the order was part of a package deal and said it was in stock it did not arrive with the Torsion Springs. The springs arrived on 4/29 and the winding rods arrived on 5/7. I paid extra for faster delivery, but it was a waste of time and money. Luckly, I had a 1/2 x 36" aluminum rod I was able to cut and fit to the torsion springs and install them.Thats the reason for only 1 star!

Product is as advertised. Textured grips are nice, especially working in a hot garage with no air flow.

The additional length over the standard 12" provides much better leverage on torsion springs. Made torsion spring replacement jobs much easier. The red paint for depth is a bit of a joke as it was already flaking off when delivered, but nothing some paint markers or a sharpie can't fix.
