This tool is a life saver for stuck fuel filters on diesel engines. I appreciate how light it is too.

Great Product, saved me from calling a plumber. Need to removed a whole house water filter housing that was stuck and not having to cut the pvc and re-plumb it. Good quality, very slip resistant and I was able to put a lot of force on the two tools to remove the housing without breaking the plastic.

Ok, sorry... silly title, but I have always wanted one of these wrenches and finally I can both afford one and actually have a use for it! Amazon made it easy, and Ridgid makes it a pleasure owning this tool. Good tool is good :) Next week I will update this review and let you know how this thing does. It's got it's work cut out for it but as soon as it arrived I forgot any concerns about getting the job done. This wrench is solid and built like it's taking no prisoners! Update: Trouble! My cow-orkers are trying to take my new wrench from me! The thing really works great! Stuff that took two people and messed-up the finish with other tools is almost too-easy with this wrench. Best big diesel motor filter wrench you can get if your hand can fit in your area. Works great!

Bought these 25 Oct 2015 Yes, the beginning complaints maybe true about it slipping. SO USE IT! Like a pair of new boots, break it in! These 2 tools have been coated in grease, different engine oils, hydraulic fluids, gear oils, coolant, pressure washed. And cleaned in solvent tanks to include living, and lots of brake parts cleaner, parts washer, dish washer, you name it. The strap nor tool have ever been replaced and are used nearly ever day I work, to include stupid "stuff" pipes put on the handle 4 -6 feet long 2 people pulling on it to rotate drive lines on oild field equipment... that little bad boy has been put to the test. Only reason for this review this many years later.. new fresh mechanic needs one after hit China mad POS broke. Spend the money Put it to real work Brake it in! Don't baby it, it likes to be dirty and get put to work, more oils, Grease and hydraulic fluid makes it sticky better! However I do pressure wash it after a solvent tank bath because I don't want my box full of the "stuff" But yes, it's out lasted nearly every other mechanics strap wrench in the shop! I think not fully cleaning the strap has helped the most However! Hope this helps! But it's worth the $ for sure Made in ELYRIA OHIO USA And it was made local Not sure where they are these days... but this one is still going strong!

I use this for piston disassembly and reassembly on forklift hydraulic cylinders, best tool I’ve used for this purpose hands down

High price. The strap wrench by Rigid works for my use. I have used one of these for many tasks. When needing to loosen or torque a large threaded device other strap wrenches may not measure up. Rigid has the strap that works on the large items. My task starts with a "Big Blue" filter canister, remove and retighten the filter container, and past experience teaches there will be other strategic uses for this wrench.

Had to fix the hydraulic cylinder rotation on my office chair. Previously used a normal pipe wrench (didn't know strap wrenches were a thing) and it scored the cylinder. New cylinder, same problem, got this to help. Took about 2 minutes to realize how to use it, then it worked PERFECTLY. No marring on the cylinder, no problems with the wrench. couldn't be more satisfied with the wrench
