I had for many years an old wooden tenderizer. difficult to clearn and it came apart. I bought this and it works great, made chicken and pork schnitzel. I even tried it on a grass-fed steak that is healthier, but a little tougher. Worked great (of course I did not bread the steak, only the chicken and pork). Buy a cheap pork loin, trim it and cut it into slices, bread it and you have great schnitzel.

I’ve had two meat mallets in my home for probably 30+ years. One of them was a nice little metal one. I don’t know where it ended up. It’s missing and then there was the classic wooden one that probably most everybody has in their household, unfortunately, using a wooden mallet to beat any kind of meat or poultry, just doesn’t seem ideal to me. You can get splinters in your food and not only that how do you actually get the wood sanitized and clean? I feel like the bacteria would work their way into the actual wood portion so after several review readings on different websites, I came here and found this dishwasher safe dual sided mallet. I like that it’s plastic because it could be washed very easily. It is not stainless steel or silver where you might get into the point of rusting or tarnishing Like I said it’s plastic so it could be put in hot water. It’s dishwasher safe it’s dual sided. It’s the right amount of weight to use for hammering your meat. Also has a hook on the end if you wanted to hang it or rather, I should say a hole in the handle if you wanted to hang it this is absolutely a great price and great addition to your kitchen
