The grap of the deep can still be smelt in the salty water!
Hello you might of read my previous reviwes on INGO and THE TIDE KNOT, i am a 14 year old year girl, again i love these books! The story is yet again gripping and the sense of excitment and secrets is held all the way through, from page 1 to page 326!The story is beautifully written with the same easy language that retains the mystery of the deep. This book is only 4 stars, and the reason is the storyline deals with a lot of emotional feeling from sapphy, and the adventure is pretty basic and if i am honest i little dull (but not boring). Hwever sapphy spends about 4/5 of her time in INGO which is what i personally wanted from the series!!But the more imprtant bit of this story is that sapphy experiences many events that have affected the next book THE CROSSING OF INGO. Spoiler = like sapphy is given answers about what happened to her father and makes a deal with saldowr, i will leave it there! sorrryAll in all a good book and suits its purpose of setting off the feeling for the next book. Four stars, well done to helen :)... i am currently about to begin THE CROSSING OF INGO - and have high hopes from what i have read on amazon. Hope this review helps - i know that this and other reviews makes it look boring and dull, but it is very important of your understanding of the othher books to learning about the crossing. therefore do read and enjoy...I will display another review for the CROSSING once i have read it :) hope this helps! :) ADMIRATION FOR HELEN DUNMORE! xx

The Deep Book
Helen Dunmore definately knows how to write, she can set a scene in an instant- its fabulous how she makes Ingo feel so real to her readers. I have always loved mermaids, this series brings them to life. The story plot gets slightly darker, but overall and excellent read.

Ingo
Ingo I purchased this book for my daughter. She is enthralled by the deep sea world of Ingo and the adventures contained within it. It is very imaginative and easy to read. It is the perfect girl's tale - my daughter is 10. She and her friends discuss events as they unfold. I would recommend this and the other tales relating to it by the same author, such as 'Tideknot'.
