Remote definitely works, you just need to pair it first!
Bought to use with my computer, works great. If planning to use with a computer, you should plug it in directly into the computer itself instead of the monitor, you get cleaner and louder audio that way. It won't beat some dedicated 100$+ bookshelf speakers meant for computers, but definitely beats those USB powered speakers in both clarity and base. The soundbar stays on all the time unless powered off, unlike one of my previous mini soundbar that is powered of AC power, even when on bluetooth. Now as for the remote situation, as far as I could remember, it wasn't in the manual but during first time use, YOU NEED TO PAIR THE REMOTE TO THE SPEAKER. I remember looking through the manual when I first got it and found no mention of this. It wasn't till like a year after I bought the speaker, I decided to look at the company website and found out how. For the record, the dead battery in the remote is definitely a thing, as mine was dead on arrival. When you press a button on the remote, the LED at the end should light up red, so if it doesn't out of the box, the battery is probably already dead. Now, how to pair the remote: Plug in the soundbar but do not turn it on; the Power light should be red. Press and hold the soundbar's Play/Pause button for more than two seconds until the Power light flashes (ready to pair). Hold the remote within 3 feet of the soundbar and press and hold the remote's Bluetooth and Power buttons together for more than two seconds. When paired, the soundbar's Source light flashes green 6 times. I followed this and it worked exactly how it should. Take note, the media control buttons on the remote only work if you're connected through bluetooth.

Oontz Angle 3 PRO Sound bar, The Speaker for Television
This Speaker is Great for watching TV, Plug it in pare it to your TV and your good to go, it is not a Portable speaker, you must plug it in an electrical outlet for it to work, However you could use a small power pack with the right voltage to make it sumwhat Portable, it has Great Sound, better than your TV speakers, simple and GREAT,Good Buy.

Nice speaker, works well but arrived with dead remote control battery
I was using an Oontz Angle Solo that worked great with my little 22" TV. I saw this Oontz soundbar that should be better, since it's bigger! However, the remote didn't work. There was no plastic piece keeping the battery from draining, so I assume someone already removed it. Perhaps it was just the battery that was dead, but I didn't have another 2032 battery to test with. And besides, I assumed someone returned it, so perhaps there was something wrong with it and I didn't really want to start testing everything, so I just returned it and ordered another one. Amazon is great with returns (since I have PRIME). It did sound great, so I am sure I will be happy with the new one. Update - second unit also had dead remote battery and was also missing the protective plastic piece to keep the battery from draining during storage/shipping. The seller was not helpful and pushed the issue back on Amazon since it was within 30 days of purchase. Amazon support was great and offered to take back the unit and return all my money, or replace the unit, but I have a feeling another one would also have a dead battery, so I am probably keeping it. It is a very nice speaker and does everything I need it to do. 5 stars for Amazon support; zero stars for Oontz support for not just sending me a replacement battery.

Perfect size for bedroom TV
I bought this to use with my tiny bedroom TV that does not even have optical out. Using aux in is the next best thing and it is perfectly fine for my need. Sound quality is awesome for its size. I use the app to adjust EQ a little bit. When not watching TV, I use the bluetooth input to stream music from my phone. So it also serves as a small bedroom background music speaker. I even use my old portable CD player with optical output with the Oontz's digital input. Note that you need to buy a full size optical to 3.5mm (mini) jack adapter (also available on Amazon) in order to use with mini optical out port of your portable device. Oontz soundbar play the cd with digital out just fine and sounds even better than the line out from the cd player.

Used unit sold as new
The speaker is great but it's obviously one that has been returned as the remote battery was dead and the unit was already paired to it.

. Instructions are VERY confusing.
The soundbar version of this speaker has excellent sound quality. Too good to send back. So does the Angle 3 Pro I tried to setup in dual mode with it. All I have succeeded in doing is hooking the optical in from the TV to the SBar, and now have the TV sound system, and the speaker working together. The result is pretty good. The Roku TV, in a hotel, has the speakers facing towards the back wall, and the next room, which means with poor hearing, I bother the neighbors. The idea was to have forward facing, since we are on a corner, that would not bother our neighbors. Now I can adjust the front speaker facing us to loud, and keep the tv's back facing speakers medium loud. Surround sound result. I can't connect both speakers, use the Cambridge app, and get stereo. I do have SBar speaker on the phone, and can adjust the sound on the phone. The remote also works, and I now can set the speaker and the TV remotely. I had to reset the TV to get it to see the SBar over the optical cable. I'm not done trying to set this up, but it has taken hours, and I have tried to understand the instructions over and over, and tried to use them as designed. Perhaps the Angle 3 Pro and the Angle 3 Pro Soundbar on not compatible on the Cambridge app? I can get the app to see both, but they won't connect in dual mode. The name of the two speakers are so similar, I thought I was buying the same speaker, except the second one had a controller and cables. From their information on the add: " OontZ Angle 3 Pro Soundbar, TV and Bluetooth connectivity, Connect with Additional OontZ Angle 3 Ultra (4th Gen) Speakers, Control with OontZ app or Included Remote" I suspect the naming is more then a bit confusing to people then just me. The instructions say open the remote remove insulation, and then sync it to the speaker through a long drawn out process. The back of the remote where the battery is located, is covered by a cover with a shallow groove. I cannot undue it using a quarter, my fingers, a screw driver, anything. Good news is it seems to work already, even without following the instructions.. VERY POOR design...

So Far So Great. :-)
I've had this product for a couple weeks now I guess, and it was very easy to set up , and having the small remote control for volume etc is an absolute must for me, rather than walking over to the speaker every time I want to make a change. I run my TV through the speaker which is positioned across the room so as to minimize volume. Unfortunately Samsungs Smart TVs don't seem to give you control of the volume for (outgoing) speakers or sound bars that are not attached to the TV (and perhaps it doesn't work even if they are attached). Anyways, one small design flaw is that the remote control battery compartment is quite difficult to open. I tried using my thumb nail, a coin, and a screwdriver, and the groove just doesn't have depth to make opening easy , so it tore up the thin plastic surrounding the groove. However, I contacted customer support and ask them if they had a replacement remote control, and not only did they send me a new remote control, but they also sent me a whole new speaker. I think it was through accident, but when I let them know and asked if they wanted it shipped back, they said don't bother, and told me to keep the second speaker! So I'm very happy pleased with their customer support Department indeed. :-)

Not a wireless power device. Must stay plugged in, but great sound!
Love the sound quality but the volume is pretty much low to loud quickly, however it seems to not disturb people in other room with non insulated walls. So 5 for 5 on that! Bass is good but not disruptive. Clear voices and it links to other angle pro speakers. Feels well made.
