My grand daughter is a regular eight year old. 48 pounds and 48 inches. What size should I order?

If I had to guess I would probably say a small to a medium. It's hard to say. I would probably lean more towards the small because she sounds like a petite young lady. What I did was, my daughter wears a medium and I bought her a size up just so she would have it longer and it was just a little bit too big but not noticeable.
