The item came and was fine until I realised that there was only one test instead of two, so it's costing me £10 for one test. Not happy, maybe I was just unlucky.

Not convinced about the accuracy at all.I recently had a very high cholesterol reading and was curious if it has improved.I got a perfect result with this test.Which is highly unlikely, given that I had the worst possible result one month ago.. and the cholesterol level does not drop that quickly so fast.

I bought this to see if benecol had reduced my total cholesterol level after a recent high reading from the Dr. The kit has clear instructions in a leaflet, although there are also instructions on the box, which are not as comprehensive. I followed the instructions as directed and found the test easy to do, from using the lancet to drawing blood into the capillary tube. (Note the tube is not a pipette, blood is drawn up on its own by capillary action. You only squeeze the bulb to get the blood out again.) The blood was then dripped onto the reverse of the test card and after a 2 minute wait, I was able to match the colour of the result against the markers on either side. I found it easy to match the colour and had my wife confirm my assessment as well. The test was in the smiley face range, but it is quite a broad range, so you don't know if you are close to the upper limit. This test isn't a replacement for a proper lab blood test, but as an indicator it seemed to work well for me. There are 2 test cards, so I can do another test after a few more weeks.

Very useful kit for testing levels. Would buy again.

Used all four lancets trying to get blood despite pressing down firmly. The last one managed to draw blood but only a small amount which barely made it into the capillary tube before my blood stopped flowing and dried up. Pity as I was hoping to see if the Benecol and diet change had made any effect at all!I think a warning could have been put on the pack about this issue the several of us have had.The instructions are not particularly good especially the "Warnings" which do not stand out.Obviously my review is not complete so I am only going to give two stars. I'm disappointed and will not be buying again - stick with your doctors tests or buy a more expensive more comprehensive test.
