Great budget emergency alternative to a mast-mounted VHF/AIS antenna
I bought the antenna as a budget emergency alternative to a full wavelength mast-mounted VHF/AIS antenna. And it turned out to be just the right purchase - my main antena broke off in heavy weather and this has worked great as a low-cost temporary backup antenna for both VHF and IAS (through an active splitter).

Buena compra
La he comprado para usar con un AIS. Funciona bien. El AIS transmite y recibe por sus canales establecidos y no da ninguna indicación de error de radio. No la he probado con una radio, pero mi intención es disponer en el barco de una segunda antena de emergencia. El cable creo que es algo corto para lo que quiero y tendré que fabricarme uno. El cable no es muy allá. Es un tipo estándar del que traen las antenas, un RG58, lo que no es un problema pues como lleva un conector en la base se puede sustituir por otro de más calidad sin inconveniente. Tiene buen precio dentro del arco de precios elevados, en mi opinión, en que se mueven estas antenas. Por ahora contento y sin sorpresas.
