Velamints Fresh Peppermint Mints Tin - Sugar Free Mint Sweetened with Stevia

While I have seen many reviews and can debunk the getting stuck issue, these mints are pretty good. The flavor is not overpowering and doesn't taste off. Good alternative for an ex-smoker craving cigarettes and needs something to keep their mind off of the nicotine 🤣. At least it worked well enough for me. As far as the packaging, I wanted to test it out and see if it has any possibilities of getting stuck closed which would make the mints not available from the package. After taking the first tin apart, I had realized that this is almost impossible. If there was any issue with opening, the plastic easily pops off and so does the tin lid. It is a simple design and should not create any issues of opening unless someone pushes hard on the center of the case. You just have to slide the top on the direction that it points.

Mints are very good, clean minty aftertaste. Beware that Velamint chewing gum DOES have aspartame, which was a giant let down after finding these awesome mints... 5 Stars for the mints!

I like lemon and was hoping this would be a great mint. While the flavor is good, the mint is very small so it takes, about three to do what one takes. Now, this is a personal preference, so your mileage may vary. They come packaged in a metal box, which fits nicely in your pocket, but can be a bit difficult to open at times, which causes them to spill out, or if you don't make sure you shut the box well, they can spill out in your pocket. Also note that since the container is metal, sometimes when you walk you can hear the jingle of them in the container. Not really a knock but an observation. Overall I will order them again, just wish the mint was a little bigger.

Many mints are just minty or pretty low on taste. These are my favorite. They come in an easy slide open container, which is very easy to fit in your purse or pocket. Some of Velamints containers have a plastic insert that sometimes prevents the mints from coming out easily. This tin opens easily without that plastic. Taste wise, the flavor is lemony with just the right amount of zest flavor added. Sometimes my mouth gets dry at night while I watch tv in bed, and I just pop one in my mouth and it helps a lot.

I like the mints. The box is a poor design. I’ve gotten boxes where a mint has jammed under the lid during shipping and had to rip the sliding top off to get at the mints. I’ve also had mints lodged in the back of the tin and would have thrown them away if not for my recycling (separating the plastic and metal parts). Lastly, at times no mints want to come out only to be followed by a cascade of more mints than I want. Especially difficult to use while driving. Did I mention the box was a poor design?

The mints that I received in October 2024 had an expiration date of June 2023! One year and four months expired! I tried 1 mint and it tasted awful. I tried to start a return, but they are not returnable. I want my money back!
