Go Waffle Gear!
Excellent gear; warm and sturdy. Many a Vet swears by this and the waffle shirt to help stay warm! Keeps me warm and breathes quite well.

Very warm!
This thing is awesome! It provides instant warmth when worn and the grid fleece feels great against the skin. I use a rougher wool beanie over this and never feel it scratch through. It is pretty thick and works great with the rest of the ECWCS mid layer system. Seems durable and is loose enough that I can pull it down under my chin without too much constriction. Breathes well and the long neck traps the warm air from your torso and keeps the drafts out. Great price and great balaclava.

Good Basic Balaclava for Mild Weather
Got this for basic cold weather head coverage and it works fine for what it is. Quality seems solid, but it isn't seriously toasty or anything. I've been using it standalone and sometimes under my puffer jacket hood during spring/fall weather. Makes a decent layering piece but probably not warm enough as your only protection in real winter conditions. Material quality is good, nothing fancy but gets the job done. Perfect for those in-between days when a full winter hat is overkill but you still want some coverage. If you're looking for a heavy-duty cold weather balaclava, you might want something thicker, but for basic 3-season use, it works great.

Waffle grid material is great
This is built to last and with the waffle grid design on the inside, it will trap the air to stay warm

Great color great quality
Lightweight poly material that's warm in cold weather but it's not meant to be used alone in extreme cold. Very satisfied.

Grab
Very nice addition to have with you as a part of your ECWCS. I utilize the ECWCS from L1 (Poly base layer top and bottom warn next to skin itself), L2 (Thicker waffle Poly top and bottom), L3 (Arctic Microfleece), L4 (ECWCS GEN II Rain Parka). This Balaclava is made with the same material as the Level 2 midweight waffle polyestor. If it's below freezing temps, and it there is wind, this is great to wear. If you are in the field, and you are on post or set up in an observation post and not moving for hours at a time, your going to need some strategic layering to keep you warm. For the price, there is no reason not to have this in your clothing inventory.

Big head = No Go
It's pretty snug and I have a 7&1/8 to a 7&1/4 size head. Also, it's fairly short as far as covering your neck completely but a zip-up collared jacket pretty much solves that. Pretty good quality, and certainly warm.

Warm!
It's lightweight and breathable but remains super warm! Quality is questionable but I don't use it too often.
