No, it does not. It is great to create a fluffy airy soil. I used it for my avacado trees. Instead sprinkle cinnamon powder on the dirt surface of the potted plant. Other options are fungus gnats sticky tape or 1/2 inch of sand as a top layer. The sand dries quickly which in turn dries and kills their eggs.
