Blumat Classic (Jr.) Automatic Plant Watering Stakes

I've struggled with getting them right for house plants - 3 of my plants doing great, 2 have had way too much water coming through (my fault as no time to try and rectify). I have been working a lot lately and haven't had a chance to get outside to water the plants - consistent 35 to 40 Celsius every day. I've got half of my flower bed (pictured) set up with blumats and half without and you can clearly see the side flourishing! I'm very impressed.

I wasn't really sure if these little terracotta units would be effective but my 24hour test showed a noticeable drop in water level, and the plant's soil was moist. I'm leaving my plants alone for almost two weeks and I can relax knowing they will be watered while I'm gone. I'd definitely recommend this watering system if you're going on vacation, or just want to automatically water your plants. TIP: attach rocks or fishing weights to the ends (the part that's in the water) if you don't want them to float!

These are so very useful for keeping my outdoor & indoor plants watered on a dependable basis. Set them up correctly & they’ll happily keep plants watered. Amazingly useful for holidays away from home.

Having just returned from a 3-week holiday to find my plants looking healthy and happy, I'm extremely pleased with this product (if anything, they look healthier than when I left). I spent a considerable amount of time researching self-watering systems, but this was the only one that had consistently good reviews, and with good reason. It was very easy to set up. You just need to make sure that you use large enough containers that hold plenty of water; I monitored the system for a week before I left and was surprised at how much gets used up. The only criticism I have is that I wish the pegs came in small, medium and large sizes; two of my plants are really tiny so it was a bit difficult to fit the pegs into the pots, whereas I had to use 2 pegs in each of my larger plants.

I use these for indoor gardening. It keeps the soil moist at just the right level.
