I absolutely adored these bookends when I got them. They were the perfect height to support and display my cocktail/bar books on top of my bar, and I had planned to keep them well dressed with fresh flowers from my patio all spring and summer. I was surprised that they were heavy weight enough to support my books without having to add rocks or anything inside - I saw some other reviews that said they are light weight and I was worried they'd slip. I had these on a bar with a matte black glass top and was worried about having a hard surface on the glass for fear it would scratch, but these have pads underneath that ensure no contact with the bookends themselves. In short, these were the perfect eye-catching modern bookends.Until, that is, I discovered that these are not watertight. You'd think that for something advertised as an "Indoor Vase Plant Pot", you would be getting something water tight. Not so in this case. The inside of the vase (like where the water and the plant stems go) only goes down as far as the base of the head and appears totally enclosed, and then the base is separate. Well, imagine my surprise when I went to go empty them out and figured out that a bunch of water had seeped into the base of each bookend (again completely closed off from the actual vase part where the water and flowers go). This explains why my flowers were so dang thirsty when they were in there. It's now day 2 with the bookends upside down in my sink and only one of them has drained (which weirdly occurred through the eye of the bookend). Regardless, we are talking plant water - there's gotta be some gross plant matter that got into that base and is going to rot. These have therefore been rendered useless for me and I am totally disappointed.You'll be fine if you never plan to put anything that requires water in there, but these are not, repeat NOT, "Indoor Vase Plant Pots" for actual live plants.

I bought these thinking they were going to be super heavy but they really aren’t. They can hold flowers which I think would look very pretty however with the amount of books I own and the weight distribution of them, I need them to be a little sturdier and heavier so they don’t topple over and can hold the books together. I found a solution to that concern by filling them with rocks. I have shiny stones that I typically use for fountains or bamboo plants and I just filled the hollowed part with them and it’s perfect now. See the pictures of how cute it looks on my bookshelf 😊

In my opinion they are of good quality, a decent size, and a unique set of book ends. I purchased as a gift but am considering getting some for myself as well. Worth the purchase.

Whenever we have guest we always get compliments on these bookends. Such a unique addition to our home!

A bit smaller than I’d imagined. Not by much just like an inch. That’s what I get for issuing my thumbs as a form measurement. By no means are they cheap feeling. They are strong and sturdy and made really well. I love them

This was exactly what we needed for our owner's suite accent table. Trust me, don’t over think it just order it.

I wasn’t sure how this was going to be but it looks great! Looks just like the picture, I can’t wait to set it up.
