Good quality construction
Much higher quality than my other 13$ pairs. I'm glad I bought three. I wear these every day!

Worth it
These are the classic kung fu slippers I was buying thirty years ago. Light and comfortable, with enough sole to protect your feet from rocks and sticks if you practice outside. They do run a little small, you should order a size larger. I did, and the fit was good.

Great Travel Slipper/Shoe!
1. The Smell: I was very concerned after reading many reviews that this would be a deal killer. When they arrived, and I took them out of their plastic bag, they definitely had a strong, rubber smell. I left them outdoors in a covered area for a couple of days, and the smell mostly went away. After a couple of days of use at home the smell was pretty much gone. Maybe some people have very sensitive noses and my wife is one of those people and she said it was no longer a problem.2. Fit: I found them to be true to size. I usually wear a 10 or a 10 1/2 and the size 10 fit me well. I experimented with a few different foot beds that I had sitting around from various sneakers and performance footwear, and found that this addition makes them more comfortable and fit better. I also have some Superfeet over the counter orthotics and they really made these tai chi shoes much more comfortable, and supportive.3. Function: I purchased these primarily to work as slippers for when I travel. I wanted something with a very thin profile that would take up very little room inside of a suitcase that would work well as a slipper that could also be worn outside if needed. These Tai Chi shoes, work great for that purpose, and are a great value!4. 4 Stars: I took away one star because of the initial problem with smell, but it does go away, so I definitely would recommend them and depending on how well they hold up, will buy another pair when the time comes. And they look pretty nice👍

Not As Pictured
I have worn Chinese Kung Fu shoes for well over 50 years, and always the same type: woven cotton uppers w/soft brown rubber soles. These shoes, although shown as I described and pictured, are not that. These shoes are some type of synthetic and very stiff upper w/white plastic soles. They are uncomfortable to wear and the hard plastic soles do not grip or give any traction at all. They were returned the same day they arrived and I will not trust this company again. For the record, shoes of this style when used for Tai Chi, should allow you to float across the floor, lightly and not clomp like you were wearing horseshoes. Just my opinion, nothing more.

Comfy, cool, true to size.
I remember these from decades ago; if you dislike being barefoot for martial arts and such, most will let you wear these to class. Or just a light, cool shoe for around the house. Glad to see they're still around.

You need to know!
Ok, let me start by telling you the reason why I’m only giving these 3 stars. They arrive with a rubber smell that can only be described by walking into a car tire manufacturing factory. And it’s not just a slight odor either. I don’t really mind a slight rubbery smell, but these have an odor that is so strong that it is almost dizzying. And let me tell you that it took a couple months for the smell to subside to a faint aroma, but is still there mostly on warmer days. Other than the smell, these are great. I use mine as a comfortable house shoe or something I can toss on just to go out in the yard or check the mail. They are light weight, very comfortable, and flexible enough that you could actually fold them up into a roll. I will say that they have no arch support at all, so you may want to add some type of cushioning insole like I did. For the price, I think they were a good deal. I haven’t had any issues with them ripping or issues with the sole coming unglued from the shoe itself. I have even tossed mine in the washer before and the only thing I noticed after this was that they lost a little of the black dye and got a slight faded look. Not a big deal for use as a house shoe. But something to know if you want them to keep that dark black coloring for longer. As for that thin sole , they have a surprising amount of grip while walking around, but you can feel every little thing you step on. So once again, adding a cushion insole is probably a good idea. And the shoe sizing was almost perfect. To be honest here, if it wasn’t for that strong smell that lasted for a long time, I would have given these 5 stars. Would I suggest these to other people? That depends. If you can get past that month or two of car tire odors, or if you want to buy them and leave them in the closet for a month or so till it subsides, then yes, these would be a good buy. But if you are planning to wear these on day one, you might want to rethink putting these in your shopping cart and look for a different brand. I can tell why they are marketing these as a martial arts type shoe, cause the smell alone will drop somebody quicker than Bruce Lee. Just imagine an old Kung fu flick where a master shows up wearing these and Is easily able to disorientate and dizzy his opponents by the smell of his shoes. He would be known for his (Skunken Master) skills. A challenge even IP Man would try to avoid.

Surprisingly Comfy
Perfect shoes for the look I was going for. No grip on smooth floors but not an issue if you’re not running.
