An excellent bit of kit.
This was a replacement of and earlier model which has finally died on me after many years service. This appears to be just as well made, just as efficient and a pleasure to use.

Looks good but isn't
Where to begin with this good looking disaster !It looks good and feels good in hand but that's about it !The beard trimmer stand is designed so that you can charge it while it's in the stand but with this version you cannot because the charger wire sticks out to far, so the slot in the stand for the charger wire is a waste of time. The blades easily detach but that's also a problem because they do so while trying to attach different guard lengths. The worst of all is that this beard trimmer cannot even cut my hair !I think its because the blades are to short and narrow and they move way to fast, so if you have a real thick beard definitely do not buy but if you have thin hair and bum fluff you should be ok.I'm highly disappointed in this trimmer like most modern trimmers claiming to be the next best thing, non of them compare to my 10 year old Phillip's that cost me £15 it's a shame it's broken.

Not cheap, in any way. Money very well spent
This is my fifth or sixth beard trimmer/clipper & fourth different brand. It’s left me with one question: why on Earth did I waste all that money on the others? It is incomparably better than my previous Braun, Remington or Phillips, making them all feel flimsy & underpowered, harsh on the skin, and blunt.Used bare, without any of the attachments, it glides over the skin, taking a week’s or a couple of days’ growth of (very tough) beard down to almost imperceptible stubble in one pass, apparently without putting any strain on the motor (which doesn’t slow), or any hint of the hair pulling or painful red rash that I invariably got after using the others. It is beautifully balanced & weighted in the hand, & the blades are exactly the right size: small (and sharp) enough to be extremely precise, large enough to make very quick work of larger areas. The interchangeable attachments are marginally less convenient than the adjustable spacer on the others, but only really for someone who needs to carry them all when travelling. I doubt whether many would. I’m guessing most people would stick with one length plus the bare blades.Blades are replaceable, and it’s worth repeating that they are extremely sharp. The battery is lithium. So far, after only half a dozen uses, it has shown no sign of needing a charge so I can’t yet comment on battery life. I’ve seen no reason to doubt Wahl’s account. With my usage, I’d guess it’ll need a charge about once or twice a year. That compares with the batteries in the previous brands all of which, without exception, died completely, refusing to take a charge, after about 18 months. It comes with a simple but elegant brushed stainless steel charging stand; a cleaning brush; a little bottle of oil for the blades (big bottles which, at two drops per use, would last for years, are available from Amazon very cheaply); a blade guard for when it’s not being used; a beard template and a moustache comb; as well as the length adjusters, a recharging lead and a well designed travelling bag. Finally, being streamlined, small, neat and highly polished, it’s a rather beautiful thing in its own right. One of my better buys, I feel.
