This is the second one of the flavored "Chickpea Butter" products I've tried. The first was the "Chocolate Hazelnut Spread" and that wasn't very good. This one is substantially better but does have a bit of an aftertaste to it. It has somewhat of a protein shake flavor and also the cinnamon churro flavor noted in the product listing. A lot of protein shakes now offer a pea based protein which is probably why this reminds me a bit of a protein shake. It is best consumed rather quickly after opening as it seems to separate a bit the longer it sits in the refrigerator. I would recommend keeping it cool after opening. In about 2 weeks it hasn't gone bad (not even close) but it was better when first opened.This is less sweet than most peanut butters I've had in the past. It works as a spread on bread, though it can be a bit on the thick side particularly if it is coming out of the refrigerator. I don't love this stuff but I've liked it enough to eat it from time to time. I doubt that I would buy it but for someone who is looking for something like this for whom the cinnamon churro flavor sounds appealing, it is worth considering. This version is definitely better than the "Chocolate Hazelnut Spread" made by the same company.

Two 10 ounce jars are included in this set of Cinnamon Churro chickpea butter. The vegan, gluten-free product has a good cinnamon taste, slightly strong, and although created with chickpeas the texture is indistinguishable from a natural nut butter. Delicious on crackers, in a sandwich, as an apple dip, stuffed in celery, spread on warm toast, etc.Ingredients are dry roasted milled chickpeas, roasted sunflower seeds (sunflower seeds and sunflower oil), organic light brown sugar, olive oil, cinnamon, organic palm oil and sea salt. There is a foil inner seal over the jar opening along with a perforated ring on jar lid and both ensure the product arrives fresh and unopened. There is some separating so the product needs stirring to combine.A 160 calorie serving is 2 tablespoons and it has 10 grams fat (1.5 saturated), 15 grams carbohydrate, 5 grams protein, 4 grams fiber and 5 grams sugar (4 grams added). There is no cholesterol and if watching salt intake sodium is a low 1 percent of daily value. To estimate shelf-life at the time of this review in July 2021 the Best By date is 7 months in the future but dates will vary.

I didn't expect to like this Field Trip Cinnamon Churro Chickpea Butter as much as I did. OMG, it is FANTASTIC!!! My only complaint is that I don't have a giant tub of it!It is quite different from your ordinary spreads. The texture is coarser and a bit harder to spread due to the chickpeas. It isn't quite as smooth and creamy.The flavor... oh my goodness, SO GOOD! I didn't notice a strong chickpea flavor but the cinnamon churro was on point. It was sweet without being sickening sweet. I was surprised that one serving only contained 5 grams of sugar! The entire family LOVED this spread. I was surprised that the kids loved it as much as they did but they have routinely been choosing to use this on their pancakes over syrup, Nutella, or peanut butter. It is fabulous on homemade waffles and pancakes. A truly decadent treat!I love that it doesn't separate much over time. Many alternative spreads, and even some peanut butters, get extremely oily over time. That didn't happen with this spread! One quick stir and it's ready to go!No refrigeration necessary either!

I've had this at room temperature as well as refrigerated and it is great every time. I should also mention, I had an entire jar in one day, and the other over 2 days time spread out over celery and on crackers, but eventually it became very clear and obvious, this is meant to be consumed by itself. Complimentary items are fleeting compared to the goodness within.The texture reminds me most of almond butter, and while I've made hummus myself (with requisite tahini, etc.) and mixtures, I would likely not guess this was made with chick peas in my first 100 guesses. This absolutely reminds me of a fantastic almond-butter spread which included hazelnut and some chocolate, but is much better.The ingredients are healthy enough and to go with all that, the protein is decent enough to go with the calories even though this is clearly a dessert.As of now it lists for $14.99 for 2 jars, but I would still give this 5 stars if it listed for $17.99

This is a very nice spread for sandwiches and can also be served with pretzels or just eaten as is with a spoon. I tried another flavor spread from this company before and they seem to be solid in their quality. The spread tastes very similar to sunflower butter and actually has sunflower seeds as the second ingredient. The ingredients are all stellar and it makes me feel good eating this butter and serving it to my kids as a healthy alternative to the regular peanut butter. The spread has a nice cinnamon flavor. This is also a good value with 2 jars included in the package. The only critical thing I have to say is that the color looks a bit muddy, which I am sure is from the cinnamon and other spices that were added; the texture is also slightly grainy, possibly from the dry roasted chickpeas. This, however, does not prevent me from enjoying this wonderful spread and I definitely recommend it.

My husband and I tried it immediately.The texture was wonderful, but I’m not a huge fan of the flavor.I’ve never had churro anything before so I’m not sure exactly what I was expecting. It’s got a lot of cinnamon flavoring, but it was just meh for us both.I probably would have loved this in a chocolate flavor, but alas, that’s not what I ordered.If you’re a BIG churro fan, then this is probably going to rock your world.Thank you so much for taking the time to read this review, have a FANTASTIC day!!
