Perfection
I primarily use these for gaming or watching videos, listening to music on YouTube. I'm not an audiophile but I really enjoy my "me time" on my PC so I want it to be a high quality experience. These deliver on every level.I don't really play many games that need a mic so I just bought an in-line mic add-on from a 3rd party made specifically for these headphones and attached it. It's a cheap boom mic but it picks up fine. The MOST important thing for me is comfort. I have fallen asleep with these on multiple times. It never leaves my ears or scalp sore. I used to have a pair of Astro A40s because of how comfortable they were, but these are superior in just about every way. These are absolutely worth the price if you can afford them. I've had mine for about 5 months. They're the best headphones I've ever used. I bought a nice little SoundBlaster DAC/soundcard to go with them to make sure I got the full range of the headphones and it made a big difference. These are phenomenal. I couldn't be more pleased with them. I plan on using these for as long as they will last, which judging by the high quality materials, I think they'll last many years just like my Astro A40s did.COMFORT: These fit OVER my ears. So many headphones are called "over-ear" yet lay on top of my ears. I have detached ear lobes so most headphones lay on my ear lobes slightly and after a few hours will make my ears sore. The clamp strength is also a huge factor. I have a big fat head (because I'm so smart) and most headphones start to feel too snug after awhile. These never do. I've fallen asleep for 6+ hours before at my PC and woke up, forgot I was wearing these, and never felt any discomfort. It's like they were made by a benevolent God just for my cranium. The top of the headphones never press down on the top of my scalp in an uncomfortable way either. The head cushion on my Astro A40s would get uncomfortable after extended sessions but I swear these NEVER do me wrong. These are a gift from heaven and I love them dearly. If you care about audio quality and comfort above all else, you will be pleased with these.

Sennheiser is unmatched for the price
Fantastic sound for the price. Extremely comparable to my original Sennheiser HD 555s that I've been using since 2006. I think the 555s sound a little bit more natural and the plastic was nicer feeling back then, but the sound quality is nearly identical. The plastic shell on these feels slightly cheaper than the 555s but they are still quite nice and possibly more durable, they just feel cheaper to the touch. The 3.5mm adapter that they come with is terrible and provides poor sound quality compared to a gold-plated corded one I purchased years ago. It was quite a difference comparing the adapters, so I would definitely recommend buying a better one. They fit fairly tight on my big head but are incredibly comfortable for long sessions. I will always purchase Sennheiser as my main headphones for music and gaming.

Great Sound for the Price, Made a Perfect Gift
I gave these to someone as a gift back in December 2023, and they’ve been very happy with them. As someone who personally owns the Sennheiser 490 PROs, I was curious to compare. The HD 599s definitely hold their own for the price. They offer clear, spacious audio with a natural soundstage thanks to the open-back design.Comfort is a strong point too. The ear cups are soft and breathable, and the fit works well for long sessions without fatigue. Build quality feels solid, and after several months of use, they still look and sound great. For the price, these deliver excellent value. If you want a great pair of open-back headphones without breaking the bank, this is a solid pick.

Good Headphones
After doing a lot of research on this model I finally decided to get it. Now to clear this up, these headphones are always on sell nowadays and you can see that on CamelCamelCamel. I think what happened is that since these are a pretty old model compared to their newer ones plus this version special edition out as well the sellers decided the price needed to be lowered. So instead of lowering the main price they just put it on forever sell to increase the buyers into thinking they are saving money. Now I got this for 115 dollars so it isn't the worst price for this headphone. The audio is good, so you don’t have to worry about it being meh for the price. Now there isn’t any 7.1 surround sound and you get the basic sound. The good thing is that basic sound is more finely tuned so if you are doing sound editing or music writing these may be what you are looking for.The design isn’t really anything special on the looks. But they did put in effort in how the joints work in order to reduce the stress of every joint. My last pair only had one joint and after a year of use the stress broke the plastic casing. With this one you have three joints (the last one is the bending of the band on top of the head) that help keep the stress down to keep these in good shape even with long term usage. The cables they include are very handy. You get two kinds, one for the standard 3.5mm jack and another for the 6.3mm jack plus a conventional piece for 6.3mm to 3.5mm. If you want to use these for a podcast and still be able to hear everyone while having the 6.3mm jack for the rest of the podcast hardware, well, here you go. The jack port on the headset itself is the smaller jack of 1.2mm which still works very well while keeping the headphones slim. They are not that bulky or heavy so you don’t have to worry about any neck pain throughout the day.Comfort. I would say these are pretty comfortable so far. Using them for a week and my ears are not being pressed too hard, clipped, hair isn’t being caught in the joints, and haven’t had any sweating issues with the padding. I believe the makers have indeed made a very well headset in the idea of comfort.False Information on Amazon page. The 599 headphones do not require any batteries. I looked up and down on the headphones themselves, read the manual it came with, and looked directly at their site. These do not use batteries. These are not wireless headphones. Not even the SE ones are wireless and requiring batteries. Not sure who created that page but they must have mixed something from another headset.Do I recommend these? Yeah, the price isn’t bad for 115 dollars and these do have a place to be used. If you want to use these while in a very loud environment then I do not recommend these as it will not block any noise whatsoever.
