What A Page-Turner!
"The Parrots" is an edge-of-your-seat page-turner that deftly manages to be a thriller without being a conventional mystery. That said, there are dozens small crimes in this taut novel, the kind real people commit every day but would never admit to. It's a modern peek into marriage, family, sex and the lies we tell ourselves. I couldn't put it down and I won't soon forget it. Please make this into a movie!

A very different story to come from the Editor of Vogue but very enjoyable. Not sure where the Parrots were unless I should have transferred the human behaviour to that of Parrots.

Well written but dry.
It is well written and full of those little details which make a good book great, but I found this very dry; but I have the same response to Virginia Woolf. The characters walk about in a half life, no one is satisfied; which is probably the writers intent, but I lost interest half way through. It is doomed to be one of those books that linger on the shelf while half consider finishing it.

A Story about London Snobs
A story about snobs. Who does Ms Shulman think would enjoy this? A story about a load of London snobs, all of whom are ghastly show offs, spoilt children, living a life that I can't think any of her readers could even dream of. What happen to the author of 'Can we still be Friends', where I nodded with pleasure and giggled at the portrayal of a woman, who I totally related to. I read this on my Kindle at arms length as the whole book 'ponged' with horrible people, horrible scenes and a predictable ending. No wonder Brexit won. We are all sick of these upper class twits.

Disappointing
Characters who you do not care about, always a turn off for me. Proofreading reading needs attention I had to re-read some sentences as they made no sense.
