These cup magnets are made for holding purposes. They are made of ceramic magnets encased inside steel cups. The steel cups close the magnetic circuits on one Face of the magnet to increase the holding power on the opening side for maximum hold. The steel cup also protects the magnets from breaking where a regular magnet may break easily under impact. Each of these cup magnets provides 18 pounds of holding power for a direct pull on a 3/4" thick low carbon steel. An M4 threaded stud is included on the steel cup to easily allow you to mount this wherever you need it. The diameter of the base is 1.26 inches.
