sweet little story, but most of the humour lies in the misunderstandings of a very young girl, so there is a sebse of taking advantage of her naivite and innocence...not as much fun as i had anticipated, from the reviews...

Whatever you believe about the authorship (was it really Daisy Ashford or naughty uncle JM Barry?) of this slender volume, it makes hilarious reading. The precocious authoress portrays the world of her (not much) elders through innocent but crystal clear eyes. Her words are chosen unerringly. Much of it demands to be read aloud.

A very excellent and funny book with the talented Posy Simmons illustrations. Can recommend it highly
