Too watery... Updated January 2025!
I figured out. the bottle is filled right just the bottle is bigger than the amount of ounces of developer inside it. No one is getting cheated they just don't fill up to the rim with it. But looking at the thickness of it. It's too watery and thin. Doesn't look very creamy or helpful in that area. So I didn't end up using it yet. I only bought the small one use bottle to try it first anyways. I'll maybe try it sometime, if I do I'll update this. I wouldn't recommend this developer cause it's too thin and watery. Update: I used 2oz of this developer with 2oz of Cree Professional permanent hair color. I love it still. The developer ended up working well! I feel bad for the review I left before this! I had to mix in a bottle cause it being so watery but overall it worked like it's supposed to. I love the results! I added some pictures of how it turned out! I really don't know if I'd recommend this but if you need it, it's good for the price!

Be careful with this stuff
I bought this to mix with 20 volume to get 30 volume for my neighbor's thick, coarse level 3 hair. She was afraid to bleach it by herself and I'd just bleached mine with 20 volume (level 6 baby fine). I would never use 40 volume straight for anything personally but I'm not a pro. Mixing them 50/50 worked beautifully and brought her down to an 8 with ease -- just where she wanted to be. If she wanted to go blonder she'd have to bleach again but still, at that point I wouldn't use anything higher than 30. Maybe even 20. All bleach damages of course but her hair came out as damage-free as you can get. If you can't get 'the plex' additive, get an off-brand, because it makes all the difference. And EVERYONE will need to use a toner after because everyone gets yellow, brassy or orange.I highly recommend all the Wella products to those who for whatever reason cannot get it professionally done and are on a budget (like me). Also they're cruelty free.I say it all the time, but DO YOUR RESEARCH. Don't just dump stuff on your head and hope for the best...or you'll have to cut it all off and start over. Like me. I was having too much fun experimenting on myself, got feisty, stopped doing my research and pushed everything too far. Meh, grows back. But it takes FOREVER.
