Not easy!
The box is well made and fun, hard to solve without using the directions. Looking forward to hiding Christmas $$ in it for the daughter.

Nice, but....
Relative to most puzzle boxes in the $15 - $25 range, this one is a little more difficult to open. That's a real plus, as some are extremely easy. I have given 5 or 6 different boxes as gifts containing cash, and this is my favorite. On the negative side:1. Upon arrival, every moving part sticks to its "neighbor." It's a frustrating box to manipulate. From a woodworkers point of view, it's imaginative in design but cheaply produced. This box needs 45 minutes with sandpaper, beeswax, and a wood finish of your choice before being presentable as a gift. If you're willing to do this, you've got a nice package to deliver cash or gift cards.2. The "locks" or catches keeping the box secure are flimsy. One could easily break this box with a little over-exuberant effort. In all fairness, this is true of most puzzle boxes in this price range. If you can fine-tune this box, and warn the recipient that excessive or even moderate force is prohibited, it's a really nice gift...or gift container.Update: Purchased a second box as a gift 2 years after the first. The workmanship...the fit of everything.,..is much improved in this box. t'll still get the wood finish and beeswax on the moving parts, but this one is nice enough to gift without these tweaks.

Great money holder vs a card
Quality made products. Size is perfect to put small item or money inside. Very easy to use with the “cheat sheet”. Great value for the money. Great functionality vs just giving a card.

Lid could be stuck.
I opened it because I wanted to put a liitle money in it for my grandson. I worked the puzzle out 3 times still couldn’t open it. I thought maybe the top was stuck so stuck a butter knife under the edge and it opened. Good little box and seems to be well made. The puzzle isn’t difficult but if you don’t know the combination you won’t get in it. I just wanted people to know about the lid.

Great Craftsmanship, Small Space
I really liked this puzzle box but couldn't decide if to give it 2 stars or 4 stars, so to be fair i gave it a 3 star rating. The low rating is simply because of usability. While the craftsmanship of the puzzle box is superb, the usability of the box in reality is poor. The box, while beautiful, is unable to hold if anything at all, despite it's size.Once the over of the box is removed after being unlocked the space is large enough to hold a ring box or multiple pieces of small jewelry, however you won't be able to close back the box. To be able to close the box and open it and use it freely you would have to keep jewelry or items in the cover of the box which is extremely small and cannot hold a rig box.You would be able to store small earrings and maybe a few rings but nothing more.So to be fair to both design and usability, 3 stars was appropriate

Not easy
Got for a 13 yr old. Put a prnted-on-paper-fold-it-up gift card in it. It took at least 30 min before he and the rest of family wanted clues. Then a bit more to get it open. I have gotten puzzle boxes before, and he gets them open quickly. This one, not. But he enjoyed the challenge.
