Never Shuts Off
I got 3 timers of this brand recently and none of them ever shuts off. One I purchased from Amazon, one was an Amazon replacement for the first one that didn't work (it didn't work either) and the third one was a dual timer I purchased at a hardware store (it didn't work either. All of them run constantly when connected to a water source, even after removing the batteries. I have four others that I have been using for three years with no problems. That is why I continued with this brand. Something has changed to where they are now useless as water timers; the internal clocks do seem to work properly though. So, if you're looking for a clock to hang on your hose you might like this one else it is not useable as a water timer

NOT Weather Proof
Works great until it gets rained on. NOT waterproof or even weather resistant. put it in a plastic bag or box. first time it gets soaked with rain it is finished.Update July 2017. Ok. I gave this thing a shoddy review for not being watertight. Here is what I did to fix it. Put it inside an icecream box. see photos.I will review again after the next rain.

Malfunction in manual mode wastes lots of water
Manual function is worse than worthless --- there is a software defect that causes the timer to run forever sometimes when manual watering is set. On numerous occasions I have set it to manual watering 3 minutes, and came back 3 hours later to find it still running. Once I watched the countdown go from 3 minutes to 2 minutes to 1 minute then back up to 3 minutes. I haven't had a problem with the automatic timing, but I've wasted countless $$$ worth of water due to the malfunction in manual watering mode.

WATCH OUT! DOESN"T ALWAYS TURN OFF (revised review)
I loved this when I first got it-- but now I've had three experiences (out of many, granted, but still, that's three too many) of the timer not turning off at the end of its timed run. It just starts over again. If this were to happen when I was away from home, it would be a disaster--water's expensive and precious here in California.I'm now going to see if I can figure out if thecompany's warranty (six years) is going to be effective-- I'll try an exchange first. since if another one might be reliable, I'd be happy to have this be my timer.Original review below.I've only had this a couple days, and will revise if it turns out to be shortlived, as some others have experienced. But for now, out of the box, this is BY FAR THE BEST AND EASIEST set of controls I've ever found on one of these devices, and I've owned several. Setting it up is absolutely simple. Using it on manual is absolutely simple. Changing the program is absolutely simple. So far it has turned on and off just as it's supposed to. What more can you ask of a timer?

Good,Bad and Ugly
Well here we go. Purchased this for our garden in June of 2015. It worked fine last year. Put it away in a warm place so not to freeze it. Pulled it out this year and it worked fine for a few days and then started leaking from inside.😧. Went through all the reviews and someone mentioned taking it apart and fixing it. Since it was over a year old I thought "what do I have to lose?" Removed the cover and saw the solenoid was not in all the way. Simply unscrewed it and wrapped the threads with Teflon tape and reassembled. All is well and works great. Manufacturer needs to make an improvement in this so they stop getting negative reviews. Emailed the manufacturer and have not heard back. If I get a response I will post it. If not for problem I would have given it 5 stars.

Waste of Money (both the device and your water bill)
The timer has failed to shut off the water several times. Of course, it always failed when I set it to run overnight. So, the water stayed on all night and caused me to have a huge water bill. I have 2 of these and they both have the same issue. The mechanical timers are much more dependable and they're cheaper and don't require batteries.

Brand new timer, purchased in July 2019, It's a leaker
I have a 8 of these timers in use, many of them a years old with no problems. This one was purchased in July this year, and put on the shelf for later use. Hooked up a number of weeks ago and found that it leaks between the the timer body and the black plastic piece below the brass fitting. I have contacted Orbit twice for replacement and received no response. Is this the way to treat a loyal customer Orbit?

Easy to use, affordable, reliable
We had some landscaping done in our backyard this past summer and we needed a way to keep the new plants watered. Anyone who's gotten landscaping done will tell you how much of a pain it is to keep the watering going sufficiently (every day watering for the first few weeks, at least every other day watering after that, new trees require 15 gallons a week, blah blah blah). It all sounds easy when you're working with the designer on plans, but when it's all in the ground the tune changes ("Time to water AGAIN?!"). A few weeks into new yard maintenance, we sprung for 250' of soaker hoses, a 4-way splitter for the soakers, and this timer. I thought it would be helpful, but holy crap, it's given me a huge chunk of my after-work life back and my new plants are happily hydrated. Now if I could figure out how to rig one of these things to fill the 5-gallon buckets by our baby trees 3x/week, I'd be in fat city. Some day someone will have to invent that.

Useless - see video.
Your browser does not support HTML5 video. This is useless. The brass coupling cannot be tightened and water sprays everywhere. I thought that by buying an Orbit for 20odd £ rather than a cheap look-alike it might actually work as well as my other 7 Orbits bought 6 years ago, but it seems I was wrong.Didn’t think to check it before use and now I can’t return it. Furious! Wanted to leave no stars but not possible.DO NOT BUY.

(I'll update it)[Update 27 June] - I've called them to quest warranty and after 2h waiting, I could talk to someone. He asked me to send the receipt and s/n. I did and after almost month, NO ANSWER. (and they don't answer my emails...)

Reliable Performance
This water timer is reliable. The built-in digital clock is accurate. It works as advertised. I was able to water my garden vegetables using this water timer with a sprinkler connected to its water output end. After nearly 1 month of vacation, I came back to see all my garden vegetables are all alive. All watering devices are susceptible to water freezing damage when the ambient temperature drops below freezing temperature. If you live in such a region, make sure remove the water timer, shake out all residual water from inside the unit, and put it indoor for storage during the winter months. One thing I am not too happy about buying this water timer from Amazon. I checked the Orbit website, it states that this water timer 62056 has 1 year warranty, unless stated differently on the package. After buying this from Amazon, which was packaged in a paper box, a week later I saw the identical Orbit 62056 at Home Depot in a different plastic package, and it marked on the package to have 6 years warranty. Meanwhile, the Amazon price and Home Depot price are within $1 to $2. I don't know why Orbit markets the same water timer with such a big difference in warranty. If you concern about the durability of this Orbit water timer, I recommend to you to get it from Home Depot for the peace of mind.
