These shoes are so similar to that other major brand, you know, the one that starts with a "V." I would swear they're made by the same manufacturer but they're a third of the price! I needed a pair of flat, comfortable shoes for a funeral and I needed them quickly.I was surprised at how nice these are. I ordered the black, which is sort of a charcoal and black mix or tweed if you look at them closely. I always wear a size 6 in most shoes and sneakers, so I ordered a size 6 and they fit perfectly. They come with TWO sets of cushion inserts. I wasn't sure of the reason why that would be, but then came to the conclusion that you could layer the cushion inserts to make the shoes feel a little more snug if they feel slightly large, or you can layer them for even more comfort. I don't see the inserts wearing out at all, so I'm only guessing why two sets are sent with each pair. At my time of ordering, because I needed them for a funeral, I actually ordered a size 6 and a 6.5, knowing I'd return one of them, and both pairs came with TWO cushion inserts so I know they come with two inserts for a reason.I thought that I'd be throwing these out or donating them after the event I needed them for, but surprisingly, I've worn them several times after! I'm thrilled with them and they look very expensive and classic. They have a "V" shaped toe area but the fabric stretches enough to allow room for all your toes. I'd imagine they'd be perfect for people that have problems with their foot shape and pain with certain shoes. I find them to have minimal support, but perfect for events where you're going to be standing for a length of time. There is maybe a quarter inch sturdy, rubber heal/bottom that is one solid piece and is part of the bottom of the shoe.I'd recommend these to friends and others who need a classic looking flat that looks so sharp and can be so transitional between very dressy clothing to wearing them with a pair of skinny jeans or wide leg trousers. I just found so many different uses for them and I'm so pleased with my purchase. If I ever want another pair or a different color, I'd browse this brand again, because who wants to pay more than $100 for that other brand when these are nearly identical and are only about $30? Go for it!
