It blocks light as well as heat; like sunglasses for your window
I got the tea silver color. Next time I'd get silver. One reviewer said silver didn't offer much privacy, but I'm getting this mainly because the southeast facing upper floor apartment I'm moving into was 80 degrees inside when it was about 90 outside. I was dripping sweat and short on time and installed this by myself using scissors an a squeegee that was too big (I did not make the cuts while film was on the window, as I don't want to give the landlord any reason to say I scored the glass). I didn't have a stainless steel blade to trim with, as you can see.Well, it's like putting a pair of sunglasses on the window. I ordered an AC unit yet and this stuff made the apartment livable while I wait for it. The tea silver cuts the light by about 1/3. For me, in rooms that have just 1 window, that is too much for low-light PNW winters when it gets dark at 4 pm, hence my wanting to try plain silver next. I didn't take before and after pics in those rooms with 1 window, unfortunately. In this room, which has a sliding door and 4 windows, my covering 1 south-facing window doesn't cut the light much but it does change the color.

The material is heavy and if you install it vertically it needs tape to stay up
I put the film on one side of a sliding glass door. Two sheets would not quite cover left to right, but it's enough coverage for our privacy. The instructions seem to assume you would install it on a regular horizontal rectangle window. I needed it for our full length vertical glass door. The weight of the material was pulling it continually downward on one sheet while we were installing the second sheet side by side. The wet material eventually caused us to use clear tape to hold both pieces up. It isn't noticeable. There was no way to remove all of the tiny bubbles, but they seemed to disappear by themselves after awhile and also are not noticeable. It was a 2-person job.One thing we are pleased with is that for most of the day and late afternoon, even with a floor lamp on, it is impossible to see through from the outside. We are hoping for a lowering of the heat from the direct sun.

Un-usable towards the end of the roll because its wrapped on a tiny diameter cardboard roll.
FOR THE SELLER/MANUFACTURER: If you read this please consider shipping this on a larger diameter cardboard tube so that the actual product can be usable till the end of the roll. The film is great and I give it a good 4.5 stars, but the way it's rolled up so tight renders it nearly useless once you reach the last 5 feet or so of the roll and that's where the problem is. Since It's rolled so tightly on a tiny diameter cardboard tube, it's very challenging to work with at the end of the roll due to the curling. This material is much thicker than regular window tint so it's important that it is NOT tight-rolled. On regular window tint, this isn't such a big issue, but this stuff is thick and stiff so it matters.(Note: I was installing this on a rather hot day at 95F or 35C so it should have been more flexible even after laying it flat on a table outside in the sun, yet it was still very curly and refused to lay flat.)The film itself is quite good. I have no complaints there as what I was able to use performed as advertised and even exceeded my expectations on the heat reduction in my 5th wheel camper. For example, we had a few days of 95F with a heat index of 103 yet my camper stayed at a cool 74F all day in direct sun and no shade. This was unheard of before installing this stuff. Before installing this on all windows, my camper would barely maintain a 10-degree temperature differential and temps would climb to the upper 80s or low 90s on a day like this in full sun. So yes, it works very well and I'm very pleased with the actual product once it's installed. However, it's packaged and rolled tight on a tiny cardboard tube a little larger than the diameter of a quarter. This means that by the time you reach the end of the roll, it curls up so badly that working with it is a nightmare. This material is quite thick and stiff in comparison to any other window tint that I've ever installed. It measures 0.2mm thick with the protective backing which is equal to two sheets of paper. When I first started installing it I was happy at how easy it was to install and with the results. However, by the time I was reaching the end of the roll, I was cursing the person who signed off on the decision to tight roll this and ship it on a small-diameter cardboard roll. It was curling up so badly towards the end of the roll that it was very challenging to work with. I don't consider myself to be an expert installer by any means, but I've installed my share of tint and this stuff had me cussing at the end of the roll.A word of advice is to make sure you measure and cut your pieces square with precision and don't leave too much extra as trimming this stuff is not like regular tint. It is more difficult to cut as compared to regular window tint. Curved edges can be a challenge to trim and make pretty, but square windows aren't much of an issue as long as you use a straight edge while trimming. If you have silicone-sealed windows, don't try to go all of the way to the edges as it will just want to peel up. Leave a small gap of 1/16" to 1/8" to the very edge and it should work fine.Again, this stuff works great for heat reduction and privacy during daylight hours but it can be tricky to install depending on your application.

Looks great
We got this for our bedroom for several reasons. My husband works at night so he sleeps during the day. The room is also the warmest in the house because it is on the southwest side. The film is fairly easy to install. I was able to put it up by myself. But it was even easier with the 2 of us. Make sure both the film and the window is wet. Spray more soapy water as you go if it is drying quickly. We found that to be necessary since we are in Texas and even the mornings are hot enough to dry things out quickly. But it turned out great. The room is a lot darker now. But the view outside is still very clear. Things don't appear nearly as dark as the images in the advertisement. There is a small decrease in the room temperature also which is nice. We are going to install more of the film on the rest of our windows over the next few weeks.

Definitely takes 2 people for a glass door
At first thought this was going to be an epic failure & waste of almost $30 bucks BUT ya gotta have patience. My hubby held the top part while i unrolled the bottom and sliced off the excess w/ a box cutter. Then we followed the instructions which were very clear and easy to understand. The tough part was getting the bubbles out. We had to peel up some of the film and then re-spray and re-squeegee it down. Took us a good, 25 to 30 minutes but it ended up turning out really well. The size I ordered for our glass door was about 1.5 inches shorter on the sides, but I was fine with that bc I did not want to have to cut off excess on the sides, that would be too much work. You can see in my pic there is about a 1 inch gap on one side and a smaller gap on the other side, which does not bother me. The main reason for this is to block some of the strong sun that we get during the day which causes it to get very warm upstairs in our split-level home.
