Dremel 9903 Tungsten Carbide Cutter

Q: will this bit help me trace some slots on Walnut (hardwood), or will the sawdust clog the flutes?

I used this bit to drill a small hole, 3/8 inch, for a water filter spout in an 18 gauge stainless steel sink, it took a while but it did the job. I first used a very small metal drill bit to make a hole for this bit to fit through, and after I went through the steel I made the hole larger with the fluted side of this bit. I would look up the woodworking Dremel accessories to see if you can find the appropriate bit for tracing on hardwoods.

Yes, but it will still eventually lose its edge. It will, however, last much longer than high carbon steel.

Take your time and it will without problems.

Q: Will this work to cut metal door frames for electronic door strikes

Yes, it should work, but if you are doing a lot of door frames, you might want to try something more heavy duty like a die grinder. I have burnt out Dremels when cutting a lot of metal doing car repairs. If you wear out the motor brushes, there are good videos on You Tube that tell you how to replace them. So go easy on the Dremel! It's not to hard to wear them out.
