Edlund Company 9-Inch Heavy Duty Tong with Lock

In what country were these manufactured?

I am not sure if I should order the 9 in. or 12 in. for kitchen use? I do have petite hands if that makes a difference. I cook a lot of roasts.

My previous stainless steel tongs' plain steel spring rusted out. Of what material is this tongs' spring made?

Why is There no locking mechanism on these? I purchased these. No lock.
