Worth every cent I spent.
Let me start off by saying that these came pretty quick. I got two 12 packs of 2x12x12 panels. As everyone says, they come compressed. So don't be surprised if they're only an inch-ish at first.I will say, they stank. When you first open, they smell chemically and are not a pleasant fragrance. They do air out after a little time, but sadly for me it's November which means Winter in West Michigan. So I couldn't just open the windows. I mean, I didn't buy these to make my house smell nice. But didn't buy them to make it smell like a chemical factory either. No big.Once you get these, take them apart and set them aside for a day. 24 hours. Let them expand naturally. I was impatient and did the whole "soak them in water and then use a hair dryer" idea and I couldn't get them dried out and took me longer to get them dried than letting them go.I bought some double sided 1" square tabs to stick these to pieces of cardboard for mobility. Don't bother. Get some adhesive spray. The mobility is great - using sticky squares sucks. They fall off. Not a fault of the product.---------DON'T EXPECT SOUND PROOFINGPeople. This is to reduce ambient noise and sound refractions for a cleaner sound. If you want sound proofing, you need to spend a LOT more money. I live in a house by two bars. I have three young kids (boys). I have a cat that demands being let in. The only way to sound proof this room is if I buy loads of thick insulation, rip out walls and re-seal everything. EVERYTHING.BUT, this cuts down a lot of chatter, fan noise from the computer and heater (again, winter in Michigan). It also helps when the kids are in another room just talking. I surround myself with the panels and it creates a pseudo isolation chamber. BUT it's not sound proofed. Don't expect that.---------Would I buy more? Yeah, I think it was worth the money I spent and would buy more to cover more areas of my home office/studio. I'm not recording high budget albums. I'm doing voice overs and podcasting. But I'd like to have more ambient noise broken up. And for the price ... this is worth every penny.
