Beautiful color, pleasant scent
I'm using this as a dye for my DIY projects, rather than something to consume, and so far, this has been lovely. I made a tinted lip balm with this (and beeswax and carrier oils), and the result "smells like cinnamon," according to my sister and mom. It gives it a beautiful pink-red color. It blends easily into the oil mixture, but it as you pour, you might notice that the color gets deeper with each pour, and the darkest color is left at the bottom of the container. Next time, I'll mix it a little longer to hopefully get it more fully incorporated into the mixture. Either way, this has worked to my expectations.

USDA Organic Beet Root Powder
Arrived one day early as depicted. It can be ingested for health benefits or used in cosmetics! You can apply it in powder form as a natural blush or mix it with lip balm to make lipstick. It is a lovely magenta color in the package but it turns dark red when in contact with water. Just one teaspoon is equivalent to one beet, which makes it easy to incorporate into your daily diet. A little goes a long way: wonderful product!

All Purpose Dye
I bought this product to use in place of synthetic dyes in my foods and body products. It is basically odor and flavor free, so it has worked out well for my purposes. I did try to use it to make pink cupcakes for Valentine's day, but they were a bust. They were a beautiful red hue when I popped them in the oven, but when they were done the color had disappeared. I'm assuming there is some reaction that occurs while baking and this product just can't be used for that purpose. I'll still be using beet root powder for the rest of my needs though!

I had read differing experiences/opinions that the beet root powder was pretty gritty.
I purchased this to use in homemade blush. I started with arrowroot flour and added the beet root powder a little at a time. After 2+ weeks and adding more beet powder every morning, it is FINALLY showing up on my face today! The next batch I make will probably be about 3 to 1 of beet root powder to arrowroot. I had read differing experiences/opinions that the beet root powder was pretty gritty...it was. Once I mixed it up, I put in in my mortar and pestle and just pulverized it. After doing this, I wouldn't feel a single bit of grittiness. I am pretty pleased with the blush I made. Just four stars because of the extra step I had to take in grinding.

Beet-youtiful
So, I have used this in homemade blush and lipstick with great result. It is a perfect base color for women with cool skin tones. I add lightening ingredients like arrowroot powder for blush, hibiscus powder to make it "warmer", you get my drift. My favorite found use for this, though, was as an all-natural coloring agent for homemade organic buttercream frosting - it made the most heavenly pink shades without red dye. It also did not impart any beet flavor. 4 ounces is not a lot, but I will probably never have to buy lipstick again.

Love it
I know this is probably a wierd use for this product, but I add it to my shampoo to keep my hair red. the only thing is you have to add it to a single shampoo amount each time. Meaning you cant do the whole bottle of shampoo at once. It works perfectly and my hair stays red. im a Medium auburn color

Bad product
This product is horrible and very dangerous for your health. It and other products like it have hazardous chemicals in them one of those chemicals being lead. I'm not even sure this is vegetable powder. When I poured the contents out the bag it became a powdery fog that took my breath away. The more I looked at the beet powder it started to look a lot like pink/red chalk. I never used the product cause it went directly in the garage. Please stay away from these vegetable powders and make your own.

What a striking, bright color!
What a beautiful color. Too striking on it's own, so I add a dash of this and hibiscus powder to a base of arrowroot powder and kaolin clay. I am left with a stunning blush. You don't need much of this, a pinch will suffice! I have also used this in cold process soap, but unfortunately I used too much and the color wasn't what I had hoped for. I find rose clay and madder root to be much better natural colorants for dying my soaps a pretty pink hue!
