Love it - a lot more stable since firmware update
The app is not great, so if you have to change your alarm time often, it might be a sore point for you, but if you use the same time alarm on a set schedule, then that part won’t bug you too much. You can set up to 3 alarms and each one you decide what time it goes off and what days of the week you want it to repeat (aka Mon-Fri).Now for the really bad part though, which hopefully has been fixed by a recent firmware update they sent out (shaker updates via the app)… The shaker would randomly decide to stop responding. The only way to get it functioning again was to poke the reset hole, the lights would then flash red and it vibrates super loud and then it’s awake again. Not great to have to do if you have someone else asleep nearby who has hearing. And of course, the only way to see if it’s functional is to edit an alarm time (at which point it will flash white to indicate data transfer), or flip the active trigger on and off (it’s not an actual device on/off button, it just silences the device), and when you flip it back on, it lights up and vibrates, which again is disruptive if you’re doing this right before bed.So far since the update, I have had good luck with it *knock on wood*, but prior to that it was so bad I literally have a bent paperclip on my nightstand in a place where I can find it in the dark for quick resets.Speaking of the silient toggle, it sticks out really far which is a problem when in a half conscious state, I’m trying to find it will it’s going off and I end up accidentally flipping the switch and then go back to sleep. I really wish the switch was recessed further into the body.I really wish it came with a pillow clip - I plan on gluing one on eventually, I’m just lazy lol. It’s super slippery and just wanders while I sleep.I also wish there was a way to truly turn it off off, to save the battery if say I’m travelling or whatnot. I know the silent toggle does help it preserve battery, but it would be nice to be able to turn it completely off too.But in all seriousness, when it’s working properly, this thing is a lifesaver. I can completely block out all audio when I’m asleep if I’m exhausted, so regular alarms don’t work for me consistently. I look forward to the next model they bring out, to see what improvements they make from this one :)UPDATE: it’s been months since the firmware update and I have had zero issues with my shaker going unresponsive, like it was doing before. Much better piece of mind now!Not updating the stars though because the app itself still needs to be improved.

It works with Dexcom; shakes me awake for lows
I got this for 2 reasons:1) I tend to sleep through some of my alarms2) I’m so used to hearing my CGM alerts that I just totally sleep through them at night. Obviously this is dangerous and since I live alone it causes some anxiety for me and my family.I have been very happy with this purchase. Since I got it over a month ago, I haven’t overslept, and I also consistently wake up when I’m having hypoglycemia over night! This would be great for college students or other young adults with type 1 who are leaving home for the first time. You download an app and you can customize the alarms and select which other phone apps you want it to vibrate on notifications. The charge lasts a really long time! I only have had to charge it twice in more than a month and that was by choice because it wasn’t dead either time. I’ve tested it several times by setting it before my audible morning alarm to see if it will wake me up alone from just the vibrations and it has done so every time. I use the vibration on full strength and It’s not an unpleasant jolt to wake up to, it’s actually kind of a nice sensation. So far no complaints!

At first loved it, now not so mucc.
At first it Woke me up every time I got a msg or my phone rings which is important since I’m hard of hearing. NOW, less than three months later it stopped working, I reset it , as the seller suggested, and now I can hardly feel the shaking, even at the highest setting.

Works great!
I have had this Smartshaker for few weeks now and I am NOT disappointed. I have a hearing loss in both ears and often miss my alarms in the morning because I am a heavy sleeper. I used to have the SmartShaker 2 before this one and I did love that one too. Some key differences between the two: the 3 comes in 3 different colors, its a little bit bigger and bulkier and it has 4 lights on it, rather than 1. I found that the 3 connects MUCH easier than the 2 ever did, and the vibration intensity is a lot stronger. I have it on the minimal vibration setting and I still find it too strong, but its nice because it wakes me up always! The app is extremely easy to use and navigate through. I turn my Smartshaker off every morning and then turn it back on later on that night, it connects right away and holds its charge. I haven't had to charge it once since my first charge!I do wish there were more options for the snooze setting. I can only set it up so that the snooze is every 15 minutes. But other than that, this thing works great and I don't have to worry about sleeping through another alarm again!
