The HR monitor in my very old stationary exercise bike became flakey. I wanted a replacement that wasn't a chest one and could be worn on the wrist or upper arm solely when exercising. This one was a reasonable price from an established brand, and it's a HR monitor, it has one job and it is doing that flawlessly with my android phone.Niggles not related to the devices function.1. It has a light that changes colour with heart rate, but to set the zones you have to use an app HearTool. It's the easiest solution but you have to read the manual and it's in tiny writing.2. Finding the right third party fitness app to work with it was a chore, a part of it was because I'm using a stationary fitness bike so all the GPS stuff is not applicable, and neither is the social media crap because *all* I want is a record of heart rate over time. The app I settled on was Wahoo, even though I had to create an account (all the others wanted one too).2b. Remember to personalise your account with height/weight/age/sex before using.I wear it on my upper arm and forget it's there.

I have tried watch/wrist based hrms but find them annoying trying to read in sunshine or rain or the screen changing. Chest straps are cumbersome and again a watch or phone to look at. This is a good compromise. 5 colours for different ranges and the exact numbers bluetoothed to your phone if you need it. Big advantage is it can be completely stand alone if you are just using it to decide to push more or less when exercising. My 1 issue is the colours arent intuitive blue green yellow purple red...you do get used to them, but the green and yellow are quite alike. Small gripe. Synched with my phone quickly with sports tracker app and heart rate always there now when i have the device on.

So much easier than a chest strap. I have a polar chest strap and comparing them there's hardly any difference and which one is perfectly correct?. Links quickly to my fenix using ant+ and phone with BT concurrently. Simple to put on as opposed to a chest strap. Also it's rechargeable so no worrying about replacing the battery.

At its price, which is very cheap (compared to the one made by my trainer). It does exactly what I was hoping it will do. No connectivity problems so far.However I’ve only used it on once cycle in Zwift.I’ll try and up date in a few months.But all in all it works well with Zwift and wahoo so well worth the buy.

I bought one of these in January and was very impressed, so much so I purchased another one for my wife. Mine stopped working a couple of months later and my wife’s a few weeks after that. There is no way to return them and nobody to contact as the Amazon returns process just loops you round in circles. So nearly £80 down and 2 heartbeat monitors ready for the bin. Pretty sure all electrical items have to come with a 12 month warranty by law. Do yourself a favour, buy from a company you can return to it defective.

Not a very good heart rate monitor. It's very finicky in placement, often registering -10 bpm over the real heart rate. The app situation is pretty bad - the heartool app is quite frankly a heap of scheibe. It's compatible with Strava, possibly the worst posh fitness app there is. It's basically a storefront for upselling more services and rather expensive.Battery life is good though.

I bought one very similar direct from IFIT. Good quality but expensive. I have to say that this one does the job equally well and works fine with our IFIT equipment, at a more fairer price.Only slight niggle and reason I couldn’t give 5 star is that the charging connection is a bit flimsy on the back of the unit. This does not inhibit the unit from charging, but check the light to ensure it’s connected properly.
