Love Katie Ginger books!
This is the 3rd book I’ve read set in this village and I love the slight overlap of characters. It makes it feel so real and takes you right there. I just went and bought every other Katie Ginger book available. I love her writing and how authentic her characters’ journeys feel. Nothing is too pat and perfect, it all feels earned and heartwarming.

Well written light romantic fiction.
This was my first time reading this author. I enjoyed the well developed characters and the easy flow of the plot. The descriptions of the settings were sufficiently detailed, and a pleasant general atmosphere was created by the author. A relaxing read. Looking forward the another of her books.

A Most Enjoyable and Uplifting Story
Amelia lived in Paris and had a highly successful career as an Interior Designer. When her great aunt Vera passed away Amelia inherited the farmhouse in the village of Meadowbank, Kent where she grew up. Amelia's parents had passed away when she was a child and Vera then cared for her. A rift developed between Amelia and her great aunt when she decided to move away to go to university. They ended up having little contact. Amelia returned to live in the farmhouse where she grew up and discovered that Vera had had secrets which she wasn't aware of until she started to do research. She was also reunited with Adam, a local Carpenter who she was close to when she was younger. I was impressed by the friendliness and community support which existed within the village. Amelia is undecided whether to remain in the farmhouse or to return to Paris. There are a number of surprises along the way with a happy ending. I really enjoyed reading this book and didn't want to leave it down. It was just so uplifting.

Just what I needed!
This sweet story was just what I was looking for in an end to summer read. I really love Katie Ginger's way of expressing the feel of a room or the smell of a meal, her words and stories are so comforting...like coming home. Absolutely a joy to read 📚

Nice story but a little slow
It was a cute story but it was a little slow. It had some mystery to it and had a nice ending. The setting was perfect. A cute little cottage in a cute little English village. I think what it missed was more diversity in the heroines thoughts. I just got tired of her constant reflections on her childhood and if not her childhood, her old boyfriend. I did love the quaint characters but they weren’t really fleshed out and some almost seemed bipolar. The elderly woman who wanted to talk and then wouldn’t say a word? Overall it was fine but could have been so much better.
