After reading a bunch of reviews for the W-King D-9, and watching a couple videos that compared it to some other speakers, I decided to give it a shot. Cut to the chase: the stellar reviews are right, this thing is fantastic and a real steal for the price. My main concern with a portable speaker was that the small size would limit the amount of bass it could produce, leading to uneven sound even if it got loud. But the D-9 does a wonderful job of producing full, pretty accurate sound, from low bass to the high notes.I wouldn't consider this a truly high-end, high fidelity unit, but the sound is quite good, and better than one might expect for the price. It is not audiophile quality sound, but it is definitely as good as anything under a hundred dollars, and on par with competing speakers from big brands that cost 2-3 times as much, or even more. My biggest desire in a portable speaker, and my biggest reason to hesitate, was sound quality, and the W-King D-9 really delivers. I haven't tested it extensively yet, but a little fiddling with the EQ in my phone's music app got it fairly well dialed in to how my music should sound.I can't fully judge the battery life yet because I haven't run it down all the way yet, but it is definitely efficient enough to give you at least a day's worth of listening, no problem. Several hours at moderately high volume barely put a dent in it.The build quality is good - this is a solid unit. The speaker cones in the front are well protected by the attractive, if a bit plain, grill. The simple styling suites me just fine. I was initially concerned about the passive radiator on the back (which is on the large side, and quite functional), with it being fully exposed. It seems very tough though, not like a simple paper speaker cone, so after seeing it in person and touching it, I'm not worried about its durability. Connecting via bluetooth has not been an issue.Overall so far, I'm very happy. If you value sound quality and want a portable audio solution that can produce enough volume to fill a room, this is a great choice. Perhaps there are competitors that are as good, but you will not find a better all around portable BT speaker at this price point.

I’ve had a few JBL Flips over the years and they’re great sounding and really portable but the price is kind of steep. I gave this a try because the price was too good to not try it. I was pleasantly surprised at how good the quality is. It’s very loud and clear enough when you turn the extra bass off. I mostly listen to podcasts and YouTube stuff so I don’t want a ton of bass on peoples voices. There’s 3 EQ settings and it’s easy to change. The battery life is good but my one complaint is there’s no auto-off. I put something on when I go to bed to help me get to sleep. The speaker stays on all night even after whatever I’m listening to is over. It stays on all night and if you forget to turn the power off in the morning the battery is slowly draining until you manually turn it off. That’s not good for long term battery longevity. Overall I’m happy with it but it’s not going to last as long as something with auto off but the sound and quality is good.

If you are looking for a Bluetooth music box at a great price and sound quality this is no doubt this best box on the market.

I purchased this speaker with the plan to use a 5 volt DC power supply. That was another $10 purchase. I couldn't get the power supply to charge the speaker so I took it up to my computer and charged it on my computer USB output. I reported this and the company quickly sent out a replacement. They definitely support their product. The replacement came fully charged. After running the battery down I tried the 5 Volt power supply to recharge the speaker. The port didn't work again. I gave up! The speaker comes with a USB charging cord. I went through the house and found a USB charger. By the way I am an electrician so I can assure you the power supply puts out 5 volts DC.I wish the volume worked at the speaker. If the source volume is too loud you can't adjust at the speaker. Volume is for adjusting direct source input only. Sounds great for working out in the exercise room.

I love this speaker. It is solid, loud, and the battery lasts me about 5 days. I turn it almost all the way up for morning workouts and then again when I cook at night. I can’t be in the room with it if its turned to max volume because it is too loud. Very clear sound even when cranked up. I get about 8 hours between charges. It stays in the house so I cannot comment on water resistance.

Had this for almost a year and it’s been the best portable speaker I’ve had. Great sound (almost too good, shakes itself off the counter). It has taken many drops and some abuse from my kid and it still works great.

I was looking for a new speaker, and took a chance on this because it was on sale. IT SOUNDS GREAT. The BT connection is fast, and it sounds great on all types of music. The only thing I don't like is the handle seems kind of weak, as there is a bit of flex to it, but that's in the design and I'm not worried about that really as its just going to be sitting on a shelf. If your looking to take a chance on a speaker, give this a chance, I'm glad I did.
