good piece of kit
I needed an external storage as i wanted to create space on my laptop HD, had this old original HD from my laptop that I replaced when i bought my laptop, found this product...as easy as 1-2-3....put in, plug, and voila!!...thin plastic though, but hey it is not designed to be thrown on a wall nor smashed on the floor!! :)no instruction coming with the product though, so been puzzling to startwith to open the case without breaking it...found the answwer on amazon's product description...YOU SLIDE THE COVER!! very easy product to use and so far very reliable...

Cost Effective
A had a SATA hard disk left over from upgrading a laptop to SSD. This USB interface and enclosure meant the SATA HD could be used as an external USB drive in an attractive casing. Robust enough but I wouldn't drop it on the floor. Very cost effective. No problems plugging in the HD and it worked first time when plugged into a USB port without any setup or additional software needed.

I couldn’t open it. When I managed to open it the device worked well.
For a frustrating first 20 minutes I couldn’t I open it and it’s quite flimsy so I was worried about breaking it. I received some help guidance from other reviewers and eventually managed to open it as per the answers to my questions (see Q&As).Once opened it worked from the off. I was trying to access a hard drive I had extracted from my father in laws old redundant Toshiba Satellite laptop. It worked first time. No problems connecting or with software compatibility with my MacBook. Really pleased. You just have to avoid breaking it when you try to first open it.

Only for 2.5 HDD
Was purchased for a 3.5 HDD hard drive but the drive doesn't fit, so unable to use. Not sellers fault as I didn't check if suitable for HDD drive I was using

very handy nice small size and cheap price
i have about 3 of these now.When my work throws out computers this is perfect for the drives to use as portable drives to lend mates with stuff on. I like the see through look and the case is solid
