I’ve Lost Count of How Many Times I’ve Bought This Whey
In my opinion, this is one of the best whey protein isolates on the market. What makes it stand out is how neutral and clean it is, it truly does not alter the flavor of anything you mix it with. I use it with fresh and frozen fruits, coffee, milk, smoothies, and other recipes, and it blends perfectly without changing the taste. The solubility is excellent, with no clumps, and the texture stays smooth and pleasant. I also appreciate that the odor is very mild compared to many other protein powders. The ingredient profile feels clean and simple, which is important to me, and it’s an easy way to increase protein intake without unnecessary sweetness or artificial flavors. And honestly, there’s a big difference between price and value. This product offers exceptional value for what it delivers in quality, versatility, cleanliness, and nutritional benefits. The price is actually very reasonable considering how much you get and how well the product performs. Definitely my favorite whey protein so far!

Good unflavored protein for a decent price
I’ve using this protein for a while now and it’s exactly what I was looking for in a clean protein supplement. Since it’s unflavored, it mixes well into smoothies, oatmeal, or shakes without overpowering other ingredients. It’s a great option if you want to control the flavor yourself. The powder blends smoothly with water or milk and doesn’t leave a heavy or chalky texture. It does bubble up abit so be sure to let the bubbles settle, for a couple of mins to air out Without any other flavor, it tastes like water-down milk. I also like that it provides a high amount of protein per serving without a lot of extra additives. The 5 lb container lasts a long time, which makes it a good value for the price. Overall, a solid choice if you want a simple, high-quality whey isolate that’s versatile and easy to use in different recipes.

High quality, recommend
I love this protein powder. I thought not having sweetener added would be a bummer but it works great. I use it to make protein cookies. I use one stick of butter, one egg, half a cup brown sugar, one and a half cups of this protein powder, 1/2 a cup of flour, 1 teaspoon vanilla. They come out great and the taste is just the unflavored powder just tastes a little bit like milk and maybe cardboard if you think about it. Not unpleasant though. Great stuff and the best part is because it’s isolate. It doesn’t cause any gas. The stuff is pure and has great powder texture.

74% Pricing Increase in Less than 8-Months
I’ve been buying Nutricost Whey Protein Isolate for a while, but I’m extremely disappointed with the price increases this year. The 5-lb tub was around $60–$65 in January, and the price has continued climbing month after month. The price was roughly $62 in January, $64 in February, and $68 in March and April. By May, it had climbed to around $75–$89. In June, it was approximately $89–$90. Then July brought another major jump to $106.95, and now in August it’s around $107.95. That’s roughly a $46 increase, or about 74%, in less than eight months. The product hasn’t suddenly become 74% better, yet customers are being charged nearly 75% more for the same 5-lb tub. The biggest increases happened within just a few months, making the pricing especially frustrating to watch. At this point, the price is getting ridiculous. A product that was around $60 a few months ago is now pushing $110. That kind of increase makes it very difficult to justify buying Nutricost when there are plenty of other protein options on the market. I’ve been happy with the product, but I’m not happy with the direction of the pricing. Not that It will change anything because they clearly don’t listen to their customers (almost every review is about price), however I hope everyone reading this boycotts and refrains from buying their protein. Thank you for listening to my rant.

Hopefully quite good and well priced, ingredients are a bit mysterious
Seems quite good, avoids excess sugar, good mixed with your own cocoa and flavorings to taste, "Isolate" is better than "Concentrate" if you wish to avoid excess fat and perhaps receive a little less sugar (lactose), decent price, palatable enough, dissolves quite well in 6 oz cold milk in a blender (but don't put it in hot beverages like hot coffee, it curdles). Nutricost website says, "Made in a GMP Compliant, FDA Registered Facility", but this statement falls short and isn't very reassuring, it would be nice to be able to read the actual chemical analysis performed by an independent reputable lab such as USP, this is always a concern. For instance, what is the actual measured heavy metal and lead concentration? The disclaimer "Do not use for weight reduction" is puzzling and a bit CYA, since this whey animal protein presumably has a full complement of amino acids, and undoubtedly many folks including myself are using it to boost protein intake while taking GLP-1 agonists and limiting calories. Thus we have to take some of this on faith, never a fully comfortable undertaking for something we ingest daily.

As described and is a dependable choice
I’ve been using this protein powder for several years. It comes as a fluffy, yellowish powder with a scoop included for one serving per use. The isolate variety contains minimal additives and virtually no cholesterol, making it a cleaner option compared to other types. The powder is unflavored, so I typically mix it with almond milk or other liquids, or add it to smoothies. It blends well and has no noticeable odor. The container is sealed, and the top seal can be easily removed with a sharp edge. I’ve consistently found the quality to be reliable, with no issues during storage or use. It performs as expected and works well for daily protein supplementation. Pros: Minimal additives in isolate variety No odor, mixes easily with liquids or smoothies Scoop included for accurate servings Consistent, reliable quality Cons: Unflavored, so additional ingredients may be needed for taste Overall, this protein powder functions as described and is a dependable choice for supplementation.

Switching to whey isolate made a real difference
I didn’t realize how much cholesterol was in regular whey protein powder until my lab work showed the effects and the doctor said, “I think we should start you on a statin medication,” to which I responded, “NO!” After switching to whey protein isolate and some other dietary changes, my labs improved. The isolate mixes well, tastes clean, and gives me the protein I need without the extra cholesterol that was causing problems. I’m glad I made the switch — this was a good buy.

BITTER taste.
Bitter taste and aftertaste. The Nutricost whey protein isolate powder mixes well with either vigorous stirring or in a blender. The consistency and texture once mixed is smooth, not grainy— and when done in a blender it gets a creamy quality which I like. The flavor of the “unflavored” protein does NOT have that slightly sweet milky flavor most other brands have, but instead it is very BITTER. If I blend it with fruit or other ingredients it masks the bitterness just slightly, but not completely. It’s hard to drink this stuff. There is currently a whey protein shortage, so I’m going to just choke down this bitter protein instead of returning it. If there were not a shortage causing all other unflavored brands to be out of stock, I would have returned this product. The macro nutrient profile is what I was looking for, but I can’t get past the taste.
